A heartfelt thank you to Kathy Persons of Katherine’s Quilts for generously donating a beautiful handmade quilt to be raffled off, with all proceeds benefiting The Stanley Hose Company!

We would also like to thank The Cornerstone Restaurant for displaying the quilt and helping sell raffle tickets throughout the month. Your continued support of our organization is greatly appreciated.

This afternoon, The Stanley Hose Company was dispatched to a head-on collision involving a passenger vehicle and a tractor-trailer on Route 430.

Ambulance 281, Rescue 282, and Engine 282 responded to the scene, along with Chautauqua County EMS and the New York State Police.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was evaluated and transported by Sherman EMS to UPMC Hamot with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

We would like to thank all of the fire, EMS, and law enforcement personnel who responded and worked together at the scene.

We wish the injured individual a quick recovery and remind everyone to please stay alert and drive safely.

The Stanley Hose Company is excited to announce that our Annual Sportsman’s Raffle will be held on Saturday, November 14th, at the SHC Community Hall, 122 Park Street in Sherman!

As a 100% volunteer fire department, fundraisers like our Sportsman’s Raffle are extremely important to our organization. The money raised helps us continue to operate efficiently and provide the equipment, training, and resources our members need to serve our community when you need us most.

Last evening, The Stanley Hose Company was dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a pickup truck towing a trailer and a farm tractor.

Ambulance 281, Rescue 282, and Engine 282 responded to the scene. Upon arrival, crews found five occupants of the pickup truck who had self-extricated, along with the operator of the tractor.

Due to the number of individuals involved, Clymer EMS was requested to assist our EMS personnel with patient evaluations. We are happy to report that everyone involved sustained only minor or no injuries, and all six individuals declined transportation to the hospital.

The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police also assisted at the scene.

We would like to thank Clymer EMS for their assistance and all of the fire, EMS, and law enforcement personnel who responded. Thanks to the teamwork of everyone involved, the scene was cleared in under an hour.

We are especially thankful that everyone involved was able to walk away from this accident without serious injuries.
