The problem with several local estate settlement firms: BEWARE: The host company tells you your merchandise is very nice and worth good money and builds fear in your mind "you never know what it might bring at auction". (Not true as you can set reserve prices with your auctioneer to protect bottom). Then the host company sets your prices high to make you feel good. B) They go through the first day and sell a few things. C) They cut the price to 75% the second day and sell a few more things. D) They cut the price to 50% the third day and sell a few more things. Sale is over and the remaining merchandise is setting there...unsold. E) Then, they offer you a low price for everything left over. F) Then, they take your merchandise and sell it themselves at significantly higher prices than what you were offered by them. Not all estate settlement firms; but too many of them do this. So, as a word of caution, if they tell you they'll buy whatever is left over, run. And then, ask yourself what you're going to do with what they didn't sell. Auctioneers in Illinois are required by law to provide you with a written contract containing all financial terms and must pay you within 30 days of the final sale date. Once signed, they cannot surpass the detailed financial line items in your contract. And they can protect your bottom dollar on some items by placing a reserve price on it. Just so ya' know.

Just signed an exclusive contract with a guy who has access to 1,100 storage units in Iowa. He buys the 5-6 that go unpaid beyond the due dates. He then donates all items that are useless or have little value. Showed me one of his 20'x40' storage units and I told him "you have three auctions setting in here alone." He hired me to find a auction facility and do the marketing. He will inventory, shoot photos, load it, deliver it, set it up. I just have to go sell it. First one of his auctions is Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 am at the R.I. Co. Fairgrounds. LOTS of tools, snowthrower, riding mower, coins, jewelry, much, much more. See all details at auctionzip.com under Walnut Creek Auction.
