We are rescheduling our event!!
We have to apologize for the cancellation a month ago, but our Coordinator Valerie, had to have emergency appendectomy surgery July 3rd! She is on the road to recovery!
But we can still celebrate on Labor Day Monday, Sept 7th!
Same event schedule line-up :D
So please visit Sherrodsville Lions Club for breakfast. ๐Ÿฅž๐Ÿฅ“โ˜•
And we certainly hope our Mayors and/or their Family representatives can still attend that day and stand and be recognized as a serving Mayor of the Village. ๐Ÿซก
Our History Display will be set up in the State Garage.
Then walk over to the park for a Picnic Lunch and fun Kids Stations.
And we can still celebrate ours and America's birthday :D ๐ŸŽ‚
We look forward to seeing you ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
Please reach out if you have any questions about the day

FUN FACT #5 Now that we know how much we have available to spend; just like your household budget, we have to figure out how best to spend it. When we talk of expenditures; you'll hear words like 'appropriations', 'reallocate', and 'purchase orders' and 'encumbrances', and some governments also use 'requisitions' to categorize their expenditures.
Appropriations are set at the beginning of the year for each fund.
Those funds are broken down into programs and account lines. We set these amounts based on previous trends and any upcoming projects we may want to do.
General Fund ~~ we appropriate for Security of persons, leisure/park supplies, services, and activities; personnel and general government, contract and professional services, utilities and dues and fees. We pay the State of Ohio for our UAN computer, printer, and software and we get audited every two years.
Street & State Highway funds ~~ Personnel, supplies and equipment, vehicle maintenance, and contract services.
With a public records request, we can send you anything you want to know? How much, to whom, when we paid it, etc.... For just one thing? Or the entire year! By email is easy!!

*So here's your Trivia Question for today ~~ Can you guess what was our largest expenditure for 2025? **Hint ~~ we pay it monthly :P
Answer will be revealed on Monday

FUN FACT FRIDAY #4
As we continue our Revenue Collections discussion: We have two other active funds in the Village.
The Street Fund & The State Highway Fund: Both which derive their money from Gas Excise Distributions and Auto License renewals distributions {Again, I don't know the exact formula as to which we get our share of those collections} The Carroll County Auditor sends these by direct deposit once a month.
The money is split between the funds when we receipt it.
92.5% goes into the Street Fund and remaining 7.5% goes into the State Highway Fund. These are both considered 'Special Revenue Funds' ~ Restricting their expenditures.

So Street Funds can only be used to repair, maintain, and construct roads and alleys. We can buy street signs. We use that fund to purchase and maintain the vehicles and equipment we own. And we pay our personnel salary and benefits from the Street Fund. In 2025, We collected $18071 in gas tax and $2618 in license tax.

The State Highway fund monies can only be used for things situated along our two state routes in the Village. Street signs, berm repairs etc. In 2025, We collected $1337 in gas tax and $340 in license tax.

We will set the 2027 budget for these funds next month [July]
