⚠️The mobile speed cameras will be moved today. Read the post below for more information!

🚨 The mobile speed cameras are moving 🚨
They will be moved tomorrow, 8/27/26 into the school zone of Sherwood Middle School at SW Meinecke Pkwy / SW Sir Lancelot Lane. The cameras will begin working and issuing citations starting on Monday, 8/31/26. There will not be a grace period for this new location. The speed threshold will still be 11mph+. Which means if a vehicle is driving 11mph or more over the posted speed limit, they will be issued a citation.

Citations issued while school zones are active between 7am and 5pm will have enhanced fines; Under ORS 811.235, speeding violations in school zones carry enhanced fines. The fine amounts for each violation are:

• Class C Speed Violation (11MPH-20MPH): $325
• Class B Speed Violation (21MPH-30MPH): $525
• Class A Speed Violation (31mph+): $875

Please help keep our kids and community safe by slowing down and driving safely, especially through school zones.

🎉 One year of connecting Sherwood!

One year ago today, on August 26, 2025, the Sherwood Highway 99W Pedestrian Bridge opened just in time for the first day of school.

Next week, a new school year begins, and the bridge will be ready for another year of connecting our community.

From daily walks and bike rides to a beautiful light display at night, the bridge has quickly become a new part of the Sherwood landscape.

🏡 Wrapping up summer with a garage sale, neighborhood event or another gathering?

As summer winds down, we know there are still plenty of garage sales, community events and other activities happening around Sherwood. If you’re putting out a temporary sign to help people find you, take a minute to make sure it’s in the right place!

A few quick reminders:

◽️Signs must be freestanding. Do not attach them to utility poles, street signs, trees or other structures.

◽️Temporary signs in the public right-of-way are allowed Friday through Sunday only.

◽️Keep signs out of medians, roundabouts and busy roadways.

◽️Please don’t place signs on the Pedestrian Bridge.

◽️Make sure signs are visible without blocking sight lines for drivers, pedestrians or cyclists.

◽️When your sale or event is over, please remember to take your signs down.

This six-week program will explore topics including:
