A huge shout-out to our amazing PTA for organizing and setting everything up to make this event a success! We also want to thank all the food trucks who came out to serve our Cato families and help make the evening special.

Every child deserves to get to and from school safely. As we recognize National School Bus Safety Week, remember you are an important part of the total safety awareness program for students who travel to and from school by bus — not just this week, but every day.
🚸 Observe these important safety tips:
👀 Watch for children near bus stops, along roadways and when crossing the street.
🛑 Stop when a school bus has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended.
📵 Stay focused and avoid distractions while driving.
🐢 Slow down in school zones and residential areas where children may be present.

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) helps students build the skills they need for success in school and beyond. From collaborative learning and inquiry-based activities to organized note-taking and interactive notebooks, AVID strategies encourage students to think critically, stay organized, and work together to reach their goals.

A heartfelt thank you to Mike Willingham and Karyn Maynard for generously providing lunch for our staff at Cato Elementary! 💚

On a busy half day followed by parent-teacher conferences, this thoughtful gesture was a wonderful way to show appreciation for our educators and staff. We are grateful for the kindness and support shown to our school community.

Cato Elementary received a $711.45 Red Ribbon Grant from the Arkansas Sheriffs’ Association, presented by Pulaski County Sheriff Eric Higgins

School counselor Felicia Mayfield applied for the grant and said the funds will buy items for students in grades K-5, including a pledge banner for students to sign and commit to living drug-free, red ribbons, educational activity booklets, bracelets and other Red Ribbon Week materials.

The Arkansas Sheriffs' Association has awarded Red Ribbon Grants to schools across the state since 2017 to help strengthen drug prevention education and build drug-free communities.
