The Burn Ban has been extended.
As planting season approaches we ask farmers to still leave a disk hooked up and ready if possible. Updates will continue as the burn ban stays in affect.

We are testing the tornado sirens in town this evening. We will continue testing monthly though out the spring and summer.

The Geneva Fire Department put on a controled house fire for training this morning. It was a great opportunity work on techniques so we are prepare in the future.
Shickley had 5 members present.

FIRE BAN IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Shickley fire was called in today as mutual aid for Geneva. Everyone was able to get it put out before it got out of control in these strong winds.

Thank you to all those that responded quickly to get the discs in the field to help stop the fire.

With crops and field residue drying out quickly, we ask that you please be prepared for an emergency by having your tractors and disks hooked up.

Your equipment plays a major role in putting out field fires more efficiently and minimizing damage to surrounding areas.

Be prepared, and don’t hesitate to call 911!

Two members of the Shickley Rural Fire District attended Flow Daze in Osceola this past Saturday. Captain Jeremy Row and firefighter Aidyn Kempf got to try the new Hen nozzles and learn new techniques in Osceola’s burn tower. We would like to thank the Oceola Fire department and Dinges Fire for hosting this event for us to train and sharpen our skills in order to better serve our community.
