The guest speaker for the May monthly meeting of the Shiloh Lions Club on Wednesday evening, May 27 was Ida Berkheimer, Spring Rose Community Encampment committee member of Girl Scouts Spring Rose Service Unit 226 (which covers Girl Scouts in York City as well as the West York and Spring Grove areas). Ida (shown on the left in the photo below with Shiloh Lions Club President Bonnie Hensel) spoke about the Girl Scout encampment weekends (which we provide a donation for) and also shared photos and stories about their April 2026 weekend encampment. We also learned about Girl Scout cookies and which one is the all time favorite one!!! Thank you, Ida, for a wonderful program.

On April 8, 2026, the Shiloh Lions Club received an amazing gift from Julie Day of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania: a fantastic framed collection of approximately 70 Lions Club pins, some from as far away as Hawaii !!!
The collection was found in her late aunt's possessions (Dianne Jordan). Dianne's father-in-law, Harold V. Jordan, was a longtime former member of the Shiloh Lions Club. The Shiloh Lions Club is truly honored and humbled by this unique and extremely kind gift from Julie and the Jordan Estate --- THANK YOU SO MUCH !!!!!!!

Just a quick reminder ---- Our 18th year of the Shiloh Lions Club's Annual Rich Arnold Memorial "Hoops for Sight" fundraiser to raise money for Foundation Fighting Blindness research to find cures for retinal degenerative diseases is coming up fast!!!!!
The event will be held Saturday, April 11 at Zion United Methodist Church at 1030 Carlisle Road in York. All funds from this event go to the Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB) through their main fundraiser, "VisionWalk". There are several ways you can help us have a successful event:

Be a foul shooter, bring a few pledges (see the attachment) and shoot foul shots to earn prizes for most shots made in your group or you can earn prizes based on your amount of pledges.

There will also be a raffle and refreshments (see the attachments) and we will also have a small hoop for the youngsters, so bring your children and grandchildren and enjoy the fun.

If you can’t join us on April 11, our Hoops for Sight team is on the VisionWalk webpage. The VisionWalk this year is on Saturday, May 30 at Latrobe Park and Fort McHenry in Baltimore. The link below will take you directly to our page and you can donate to the team. Any money donated to the Hoops for Sight team on the VisionWalk page will go directly to the VisionWalk but will be credited to our team totals.
