🚨 A Friendly Reminder About Grass Clippings 🚨
With all the recent rain, many residents are busy mowing their lawns—and we've noticed an increase in grass clippings being blown or discharged into our streets and gutters.
While it may seem harmless, grass clippings in the roadway create several problems:
🌧️ They can clog storm drains and contribute to drainage issues.
🚗 They can create slippery conditions for motorcycles and bicycles.
🧹 Our street sweeper is designed to remove dirt, sand, and small debris—it is not intended to collect piles of grass clippings and yard waste.
Please remember that City ordinance prohibits placing lawn trimmings, grass clippings, and other vegetation in streets, gutters, alleys, and other public property. Violations may result in enforcement action and fines.
Before you finish mowing, take a few extra minutes to:
✔️ Blow or sweep clippings back onto your lawn.
✔️ Bag and dispose of clippings properly if needed.
✔️ Keep streets and drainage areas clear for everyone.
