Sunday night, the Gold Country Golden Eagles took on the El Dorado County Probation All Stars for a great night on the court!

The All Stars came out strong, but the Golden Eagles battled to the end and secured a 47–41 victory, taking home the Resilience Trophy!

The night also included a halftime presentation from Jake with Northern California Construction Training Inc. and plenty of great moments both on and off the court.

A special thank you to Coach Tracy M Bunch and all of the players who participated and helped make this event possible. We also want to thank everyone who came out to support the teams and helped make the night such a success.

The Golden Eagles coaching staff are committed to teaching the game while helping our County’s young athletes grow in character, leadership, and life skills.

One of the highlights of Probation Services Week is taking the time to recognize the people who make our department what it is.

On Wednesday, we came together for our Annual Employee Awards Ceremony to celebrate this year’s award recipients, present challenge coins, and recognize employees for their years of dedicated service. Swipe through to see this year’s award recipients!

This year’s challenge coins were presented to Candice Shade, Sara Daniels, Dana Capizzano, Forrest Andra, and Kyle Surber of El Dorado County Office of Education for the positive impact they’ve had on our department and the youth and families we serve. Due to prior engagements, Mr. Surber was unable to attend and Carey Buchanan accepted the challenge coin on his behalf.

Congratulations to everyone who was recognized, and thank you to every member of our department for your hard work, dedication, and commitment. We are grateful to work alongside all of you.

We’re continuing Probation Services Week by celebrating the outstanding dedication of DPO Alejandro Garibay!

Our department received a heartfelt letter from a client who expressed how much DPO Garibay’s professionalism, fairness, and steady support influenced their experience. The client shared that the respect he offered and the care he put into each interaction made a meaningful difference in their ability to move forward.
 
DPO Garibay exemplifies the purpose behind Probation Services Week by showing what genuine commitment looks like in everyday work. His ability to guide individuals through challenging moments with patience and integrity reflects the positive impact our officers strive to make. Today marks 12 years since we lost our friend and coworker, Matt.

Those who had the privilege of knowing Matt remember his kindness, compassion, and the genuine care he showed to those around him. During his time at our former Juvenile Hall in Placerville, he built meaningful relationships with the youth in our care and left a lasting impression on his fellow officers and staff.

Although 12 years have passed, Matt’s memory continues to live on through the stories, friendships, and lives he touched. Today, we pause to remember him and the positive impact he made on our department and everyone who knew him.

We had an incredible time at this year’s El Dorado County Fair! Over four full days, our team connected with the community, shared countless smiles, and enjoyed meaningful conversations with fairgoers.

We’re grateful for the continued collaboration with our Public Safety and Law Enforcement Agency partners, working side by side to help everyone celebrate safely and responsibly.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared a moment with us, and helped make this year’s fair such a meaningful experience. We’re grateful for this community and proud to be part of it.
