Shippenville Elk Twp. Volunteer Fire Department Shippenville VFD is a volunteer fire and rescue company located in Clarion County, in western pennsylvania

Shippenville VFD responds to all types of Fires, Vehicle accidents, Rescues (Rope, Confined Space, Water,Trench, and Ice), Traffic control, Flooding, Electrical emergencies, and we provide assistance to our Ambulance Service. In an average year we receive about 140 emergency calls and several service calls. We are the host company for the Clarion County Technical Rescue Team which consists of nearly 30 firefighters from several fire companies around the county.

At 1536 we were dispatched for a flooded basement and smoke coming from the basement. A leak from the incoming water line was flooding the basement and the pump could not keep up and burnt the motor up causing the smoke. Electric and water was shut off and basement is being pumped out. Engine 1 responded along with ladder 1 responding on its first call. A member of the community sent this to us.

As we head into parade season, please take a minute to remind the kiddos about parade safety. Candy is exciting, but never run into the roadway near a moving parade vehicle. If candy lands close to a truck or other vehicle, wait until it has completely passed and the area is clear before picking it up.

A little reminder before the parade( can help keep everyone safe while still having a great time! 🍬🚒
