Shiremanstown Borough and the Shiremanstown Historical Society are proud to partner on the revitalization of Memorial Park.

You gave your ideas (remember the survey you completed last August?!) and exciting things are coming…👀

Imagine Memorial Park with:
👉 Modern, inclusive playground equipment

👉A paved walking path to encourage movement and connection

👉 New pickle-ball court to expand recreation for all ages

👉 Updated gathering spaces that strengthen community bonds

This is more than a park update, it’s an investment in our community’s health, families, and future. 💚

Important Update and Message from Council President Homer:

The snow emergency was declared through 8am this morning. Mechanicsburg school district made the decision to close late last night. Happy to report that emergency travel routes remained clear during the snow event and borough roads were maintained. No one was injured and there were no major safety events.

As a point of clarification, neither PennDot nor the Borough clears curb to curb on Green or Main Streets. The intent of keeping those roads clear of vehicles is to allow emergency vehicle access if there were a fire or medical event. It is the responsibility of residents to clear their parking spots. I think Main Street was well done and allowed enough room for residents to park alongside the curb.

Last, thank you to the residents and Borough staff and volunteers working together to help one another clear sidewalks and parking spaces. These are the moments when community counts and we have the opportunity to meet the needs of our neighbors.
