Good morning all it is so great to see the progress and the great work of good government. While in office this was another project brought to me by local residents concerned about public safety for their children walking to school Assemblyman Thiele immediately listened and assured we can get this project together to work. I continue to see the projects heard from the residents coming together slowly the roads on Mastic blvd and Cumberland which the wood ave community group fought hard for the future light at Frowein and Moriches Middle Island Road turning lane soon to come as well as the Yaphank fish ladder in the spring and Violets Cove clean up. As you know it takes a strong hard working Legislator to get work accomplished. Sometimes work can be completed in 4 years that others can’t complete in 12. Thank you Councilman Panico, Supervisor Romaine, Superintendent Losquadro, Assemblyman Destefano in your efforts to getting this work completed. Also a big thank you to the all the workers to help make these projects completed. Without our residents fighting for a better community none of this can happen keep up the good faith. We all have a unique community. You are all true friends to me. See you soon.

It is so great to hear the hard work put in to getting this project passed in 2019 by voter support the County Executive announced the funding has been secured. It was such a privilege to serve as a Legislator and in my final days be able to advocate for this finding in writing and see it come together. It will be great to see this project come to completion in future years along with many other projects.

This project will create a new sewer district in the Mastic-Shirley area to mitigate the impacts of failing sewers in homes and businesses and from flooding. Forge River Watershed Project

Tonight I was able to stop by a local business Angela Ly Nails on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley and pick up some food donations and drop off to our local food pantry at The Assembly of God of Shirley on McGraw Street. I am so thankful to our local business for staying involved helping our community residents. It also gives me an opportunity to stay in touch with all my friends I have met as an elected official while still helping my community. Have a great weekend.

I would just like to thank my friends at Girl Scout Service Unit 48 and Helping Make U Happy for recognizing me for my hard work and dedication to the community. Thank you to the many others who sent text messages, wrote an email or letter, made a call or even stopped by. You all such dedicated community orientated people of all ages. Keep up the good work.

Well just a few updates although the politics are gone I am able to still help and maintain our much needed quality of life issues. This week I was able to help a local resident who needed much assistance with her oil burner and services she was provided to survive with all the help in 24 hours she was back up and running. Yesterday we were able to condemn a house I worked on with my team but struggled hard to complete but with the help of the neighbors it was condemned yesterday I truly thank them and apologize it took so long. Last week I was at a local restaurant and a young Girl Scout told me of her accomplishments and I would not be able to give her any recognition so I went to Dunkin Donuts bought her a gift card and let her by her and her sister an ice cream. I may have left politics but I have not left our community.

This is so great to see the Mastic Beach Community making progress. As you will note we have set aside 3 million in Capital Plan money for Mastic Beach revitalization as well have placed many land conservation as well updated our new Land Conservation Mitigation Plan I am so glad to see the progress continue. Thank you to all involved and keep up the good work I enjoyed being an advocate for our community and the environment.

In consideration of the recent news that the bids for the Forge River Watershed Sewer District have come in above what was to be expected, I want to assure the residents that my office is already one step ahead on this issue. Along with my fellow Elected Officials in similarly effected sewer districts, we have joined together to advocate to the United States Congress for additional infrastructure funding. I am confident that this shovel ready project is eligible for COVID Relief Infrastructure Funds. Since taking office this Sewer District has always been one of my top priorities, and my office will continue to work towards the completion of this project for the benefit of the entire Mastic/Shirley Peninsula.

Yesterday my office participated in a business recognition initiative at the request of the Mastic Park Civic, to honor businesses in Mastic that long served our community. These businesses have invested a lifetime in our community and we are appreciative for having them in our community. We look forward to many more years with them by our side.

Throughout the pandemic both Angela Ly Nail Spa and St. Andrew’s have been instrumental in providing food and resources to residents of the 3rd Legislative district.
