The pantry is open to ALL PA military active duty and reserves, their direct families and veterans. Fresh foods may be dropped off on the morning of scheduled pantry days. Our military and veterans have given up many things in their service to our country. Those who are de

ployed should not have to worry if their kids have enough breakfast before school or if the baby will have diapers and food. Many spouses lose jobs when they transfer to a new area with their military member. There are several hundred thousand combat injured vets who are waiting for a medical determination and have no income during the up-to 18 months that determination can take. There are a host of other reasons they end up in a tight money squeeze and the bottom line is they just need some help to get through this crisis and back on their feet. An added benefit to the pantry is that we work very closely with the Family Action Center Specialists, the VA Hospital, SSVF, Salvation Army, Veterans Centers in 5 counties and many military support organizations and groups. When someone comes to the pantry we can also assess their current needs and direct them to the other sources of help they may qualify for. We do not cover electric or heating bills but we know of 3 other organizations that do so we can get them set up with an appointment. We do not handle any medical issues but if they appear to need some sort of medical evaluation we can get an appointment set up with the FACS to get things rolling. Volunteers are always needed, not just on pantry days, but all our operational days to help pack care packages, sort donations and shelve them, general organization and for some of our fundraising events. ***CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS!***
Keystone Military Families will be participating in the Parade and Children's Fair on Saturday June 6th. We are in need of some extra people to walk the parade route with us! We have a ton of items for the kids that we are giving out. It is not a long parade route and we want to be sure we don't miss anyone!
Please report to the pantry between 8 and 8:30 to coordinate jobs and get our items to the park.
We could also use some extra help at the park with our tables and bake sale.
All the parade walkers will receive a KMF tee shirt so the kids know who to watch for. 😉❤️
The pantry will be CLOSED SAT 6/6 so we can all be at the park supporting our community!

Today is Memorial Day , and KMF will once again be at our 's Berkshire Mall store 9AM to 5PM raising funds through their Our Heroes promotion. It has been such an amazing weekend of support and we truly appreciate all of the store personnel, ALL the donors that stopped by to help, and every single volunteer that gave up family time to assist at the tables in the store. Extra special shout out to store manager Stephanie for all the announcements so shoppers could find our tables to donate! ❤️🇺🇲

You've all heard the saying that It Takes a Village, but when all else fails you have to send out a call for an Army. The PA Army National Guard that is!

We have had a broken fridge since just before Christmas and have needed help getting it out of the tight quarters of the pantry so we could move the new one in. Today help showed up in the form of the Guard unit from River Road. Not just 2 or 3 soldiers but 8 or 9 took on the challenge. These refrigerators weigh 540 pounds each so they are not easy to handle.

After explaining the logistics of the move, these guys made short work of completing the move and even took time to load a 1200 pound pallet of juice on our truck to be delivered to another non-profit on Tuesday.

A million thanks to our friend and volunteer Haydar for making the connection to the Guard unit for help. It should be noted this unit is new to the Armory and is still getting settled in. Thanks also to our team for the assist in taking off the doors and prepping the aisles for the move.

Our families will now be able to get even more fresh foods during their weekly visits!
