Shoreview welcomes a few new permanent residents . . . or should we say pollinators? 🦋🐝

We're excited to announce the completion of the Highway 96 tunnel mural near the community center! This project was created in collaboration with our bikeways and trails committee, Gallery 96, the Shoreview Community Foundation, and the Ramsey-Washington Metro Watershed District.

The mural came to life through artists Sara Herman and Lili Lennox. Choose your favorite way to enjoy the mural by biking, walking, or rolling through the tunnel now!

September is healthy aging month!

This month raises awareness on the physical and mental health of older adults, reminding us that our bodies and minds change with age. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is important to help with those changes, and to prevent common age-related health problems!

For several generations, Native American children in this country were forcibly taken from their families and sent to boarding schools to assimilate into white society. Minnesota was home to at least 21 Native American boarding schools and is home today to 11 federally recognized Tribal Nations.

On September 14, the Shoreview Human Rights Commission will host Trauma and Solidarty: Walking Together Towards Justice and Healing at 6 pm. This talk will be led by guest speaker Dr. Samuel Torres, the deputy chief executive officer for the National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition (NABS).

This event is hosted in partnership with the social justice ministries from St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church Community, Interfaith Antiracism Ministry of Minnesota, White Bear Lake Rotary Club, Many Faces, and others.
