Last week, members of our C Shift Station 15 crew and Fire Marshal JD Pepper attended Camp Courage in Prescott, hosted by the Arizona Burn Foundation.

Camp Courage provides burn survivors with a place to heal, build confidence, and create lasting connections with others who understand their journey. Our crew had the opportunity to spend the day with campers, take part in activities, and make memories. This included a few water fights along the way!

We are grateful to the Arizona Burn Foundation for the invitation and for the incredible work they do to support burn survivors and their families. It was an honor to spend time serving others and be part of such a meaningful experience! 👨🏻‍🚒❤️

Yesterday, our community had the privilege of welcoming the EMS Rolling Honors Memorial to Show Low as we gathered to honor and remember the three members we have lost.

EMS Rolling Honors travels across the country recognizing EMS professionals who have died in the line of duty, ensuring their service, sacrifice, and legacy are never forgotten. While this visit held deep meaning for our community, it also reminded us that departments and families across the nation carry the weight of loss while continuing to honor those who dedicated their lives to serving others.

Yesterday gave us a chance to pause together. We honored not only our three, but EMS professionals across the country whose commitment to helping others left a lasting impact on the communities they served.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sunrise Air for their support in making this tribute possible. We also thank Mayor John Leech Jr., Navajo County Sheriff’s Office, Guardian Air, Native Air, Vernon Fire, Pinetop Fire, and U.S. Forest Service for joining us in honoring our fallen. Most importantly, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to the families who continue to share the memory and legacy of those we lost.

To those we have lost — your service will never be forgotten, and your memory continues to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved you. ❤️🩵

🔥 FACT FRIDAY 🔥

What would the bond pay for?

Last week, we talked about why the District is considering a bond. This week, we’re answering one of the most common questions:

What would the bond actually pay for?

If approved by voters, bond funding would help support:

🚒 Station 13 relocation/replacement to address structural, foundation, and code compliance concerns.

🚒 Renovations to Station 15, originally designed for one company and three personnel, but now supporting significantly more staffing.

🚒 Station 19 replacement, which was not designed to house modern fire apparatus and equipment.

🚒 A replacement ladder truck to help protect large residential and commercial structures and provide additional district coverage.

These projects are intended to address operational needs, safety concerns, space limitations, and long-term service demands while helping the District continue serving a growing community.

For the past two weeks, we had the privilege of hosting the Fire Prevention & Education Team (FPET) at our Administrative Office as they worked to help spread the message of wildfire prevention throughout our community.

During their time here, FPET members helped educate residents on wildfire preparedness and the importance of following Stage 1 Fire Restrictions to help reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires. Their dedication to community outreach and fire prevention plays an important role in helping keep our community informed during a critical time of year.

We want to extend a sincere thank you to the FPET crew for their hard work, partnership, and commitment to protecting our communities through education and prevention.

Safe travels, and thank you for everything you’ve done to help keep our community wildfire aware. We appreciate you! 🌲🐻🔥

Our crews have been busy out in the community lately, and we wouldn’t have it any other way! ❤️🚒

We had an incredible time at the Rockin’ the Rim event alongside our Auxiliary group, enjoying great music, great company, and making memories with our fire family. One of the highlights of the event was watching some of our newest firefighters team up with our Union firefighters for a pie eating contest. Safe to say, things got a little messy! 🥧

More recently, we joined the fun at Hatch Toyota for Changepoint’s event, where we had the opportunity to meet so many awesome families, connect with our community, and give plenty of kids a chance to check out one of our fire trucks up close.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello! We always enjoy spending time with the people who make this community so special!

At approximately 2:00 AM this morning, Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District responded to assist Pinetop Fire District with a residential structure fire in Pinetop.

Timber Mesa crews responded with Engine 13, Engine 14, Engine 17, Rescue 13, Rescue 14, Scene Support, and Fire 16.

Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a heavily involved structure fire and immediately began fire suppression, search efforts, and scene support operations. During the incident, one occupant was transported for medical treatment, while another occupant later succumbed to their injuries.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation with Pinetop Fire. Prevention 11 with Pinetop is assisting with the investigation in coordination with the Navajo County Sheriff’s Office.

Our hearts are with the family, loved ones, and neighbors affected by this tragic event. Timber Mesa is proud to stand alongside our neighboring agencies in providing aid and support when our communities need it most.

🚒 FACT FRIDAY 🚒

Why is Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District considering a bond (Prop 455)?

As our communities continue to grow, so has the demand for emergency services.

TMFMD responds to approximately 8,300 calls each year, with 72% being emergency medical calls. At the same time, Arizona state law limits annual increases in property tax values, which impacts the District’s primary funding source.

The District has identified approximately $25 million in capital needs, including station improvements, facility updates, and equipment replacement that cannot be funded through the current operating budget without affecting daily emergency services.

Prop 455 is intended to help address current operational needs, public safety demands, and future service growth while maintaining emergency response capabilities for the communities we serve.

Have questions about the Prop 455? We’ll be answering frequently asked questions every Friday. 🔥

While many of our crews continue serving the White Mountains, Timber Mesa currently has personnel deployed to assist with the fire in Capitan, New Mexico.

A REMS (Rapid Extraction Module Support) team and ambulance are on assignment, supporting firefighters on the incident. REMS teams are specially trained to assist with firefighter emergencies in difficult terrain, while ambulance personnel help ensure medical resources are available when needed.

Wildland fire response often extends beyond district lines, and we’re proud to support neighboring communities and our fire service partners when needed.

Please keep all firefighters, first responders, and the community in your thoughts as crews continue working to protect lives and property. 🚒

Big moments for the Timber Mesa Fire family. 🚒❤️

We are proud to celebrate 4 of our firefighters graduating paramedic school! This is an accomplishment that represents countless hours of studying, training, long days, and even longer nights. Becoming a paramedic is no small task, and this achievement reflects the dedication these firefighters have shown to better serving our community.

We are also excited to officially welcome 9 new firefighters to the Timber Mesa Fire family! We’re excited to watch each of these individuals grow in this profession and serve the communities we love. As part of recruit academy graduation, Firefighter Garvin received the Best Teammate Award, Firefighter Martucci received the Most Heart Award, and Firefighter D. Peters earned Recruit of the Academy. These are recognitions that reflect the hard work, character, and dedication already being shown by these firefighters.

To our newly graduated medics and newest firefighters, congratulations! We are incredibly proud of each of you and excited for what lies ahead. Thank you for choosing a career of service and for continuing to raise the standard for our district and community! 👨🏻‍🚒🚑

Some gave all.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We remember those who never made it home and gave everything for something greater than themselves.

Memorial Day is a time to reflect on the sacrifice they made and the freedoms we have because of it. Their courage, service, and sacrifice will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸
