We are so excited that the People of Hope mobile museum will be in Shreveport in just one month! This is a one-of-a-kind, tractor-trailer-sized museum that highlights encounters with families in need and provides education on poverty in our state and across the US.

We hope you will join us and experience this unique opportunity! The museum is free and will be open to the public on October 7 and 8 from 10:30am-6:30pm, located next to our office at 902 Olive St. in Shreveport.

Yesterday we had the privelege of sharing with the City Council how our financial services programs are impacting the community. Their partnership and support of the Financial Empowerment Center is making a difference for so many in our community who are working to build stronger financial foundations. Thank you, City of Shreveport Government!

Karen, one of our Gabriel's Closet moms, recently shared her story with us. She's been with our program for 5 years, and has been excited to participate in our new support groups. She credits the support groups with helping her and her husband balance the daily stressors of life. She also shares that reflecting on how she feels as a mom has been really impactful. "It's helped me find out what I am, 'Who is Karen?'"

This year at our Bingo on the Bayou fundraiser, we were excited to hear Karen tell her story. We hope you'll take a couple of minutes and watch her video as she shares how Gabriel's Closet has impacted her and her family.
