A huge thank you to Zeta Amicae for donating purses filled with essential items for the women in our Life Recovery Program!

These thoughtful gifts are a reminder to our guests that they are seen, valued, and loved. We are grateful to witness women helping other women through acts of kindness, encouragement, and generosity.

There’s something powerful about learning a new skill… especially when it becomes a stepping stone toward a brand new future.

Recently, the ladies in our New Beginnings Program spent time in the Mission's Culinary Arts Vocational Training learning how to fry chicken. While it may seem like a simple lesson, moments like these represent so much more. Our guests are gaining hands-on experience, building confidence, learning teamwork, and developing practical skills that can open doors in the workforce.

At the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission, vocational training is about more than completing a task. It’s about helping men and women break the cycles of homelessness and poverty by equipping them with the tools they need for long-term stability and success.

Every class, every lesson, and every new skill learned is another step toward hope, independence, and the Jeremiah 29:11 future God has planned for them.

✨Victory✨

Every victory matters.

Kenyatta came to the Mission determined to make a change in her life — and she’s been steadily moving forward ever since. This week, she secured a job AND was able to get her ID with the help of our team!

What may seem small is actually a huge step toward stability, independence, and a brighter future. Kenyatta is beginning to see the potential God has placed inside of her and is excited about the life He has ahead for her.

At the Mission, we believe transformation happens one step at a time… and Kenyatta is taking those steps with courage, faith, and determination.

Keep up the amazing work, Kenyatta! Your Mission Family is cheering you on every step of the way.

Stories like Kenyatta’s are only possible because of a community that chooses to care. You can be a part of the next victory story. Give today at https://bit.ly/sbrmdonate.

Memorial Day at the Mission was about more than just gathering together.

For many of the women in our Life Recovery Program, holidays once felt lonely, broken, or uncertain. But this Memorial Day was filled with laughter, encouragement, meaningful conversations, and time spent building genuine friendships.

At the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission, restoration is about more than meeting physical needs. Through our Christ-centered Life Recovery Program, women are growing in their relationship with God, with others, with themselves, and even with the world around them. They are learning how to build healthy relationships, trust again, encourage one another, and create lasting bonds rooted in hope and healing.

Moments like these may seem simple, but they are part of something life-changing. Community is being restored. Walls are coming down. Hope is being rebuilt.

Thank you Mission Family for helping create a place where women can heal, grow, and discover the future God has for them. YOU are changing our cities one life at a time!

✨Victory✨

Rebecca recently obtained her driver’s license, and she is excited about what God is going to do next in her life. What may seem like a simple milestone to some represents so much more… freedom, opportunity, independence, and another step forward in her journey of restoration.

Rebecca shared how grateful she is for the way God is moving in her life as she continues to trust Him through every season. We are so proud of her perseverance, faith, and determination.

At the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission, we celebrate victories big and small because every step forward matters. From obtaining an ID or driver’s license to finding employment and stable housing, each milestone is part of the journey back to hope and a future.

Every Wednesday night, something powerful happens at the Mission.

Pastor Larry gathers with the men and women in our Life Recovery Program for an open discussion Bible study — a time filled with honesty, growth, healing, and deep conversations about faith and life.

These nights are about more than just reading Scripture. Our guests are asking hard questions, exploring their relationship with God, learning what it means to walk in faith, and discovering that God’s love meets them right where they are.

For many of our guests, this is the first time they’ve ever felt safe enough to open up about their struggles, doubts, fears, and hopes for the future. And through every conversation, we are watching God move in incredible ways.

Lives are being restored. Faith is growing. Hope is taking root.

A huge thank you to the Council on Alcoholism & Drug Abuse of NWLA Mobile Crisis Response Team for joining us at the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission for a recent Lunch and Learn!

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the incredible work this team is doing in our cities to help individuals and families in crisis. This Lunch and Learn gave us the opportunity to come together and have meaningful conversations on the growing needs we are seeing throughout our community and explore ways our organizations can work together to better serve those who are hurting.

At the Mission, we know that collaboration matters. When organizations come together with a shared heart to serve, lives can truly be changed. Thank you, CADA, for meeting with us and for the important work you do every day to bring support to people in crisis throughout our community.

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Because of their courage, we have the opportunity to serve, to worship, and to love our neighbors freely. Freedom is never free, and today we honor those who laid down their lives for our country.

Please join the Mission Family in remembering our fallen heroes and praying for the families who carry their legacy each day.

✨Victory✨

Please join us in congratulating Frederick on moving into our TLC Campus! What may seem like a simple move is actually a huge step forward in his journey of restoration and stability.

At the Shreveport-Bossier Rescue Mission, the TLC Campus provides graduates and guests who have completed their program with a structured, accountable environment as they continue building a foundation for long-term success. For Frederick, this represents more than a new place to stay — it represents hope, progress, and a future.

Every step matters. From finding stability, to rebuilding relationships, to pursuing the Jeremiah 29:11 future God has for them, we are honored to walk alongside guests like Frederick as they continue moving forward.

Want to help more men and women like Frederick take their next step toward hope and stability? Give today at https://bit.ly/sbrmdonate.
