A MAJOR win is coming to Shreveport-Bossier in February 2027!

Today, alongside our local and state partners, we officially announced that the SCAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships are coming to Brookshire Grocery Arena February 26–28, 2027, AND returning in 2028 and 2029! 🏀🏀🏀

The 2027 tournament will celebrate the championships’ 25th anniversary while marking the first time in conference history they will be played at a neutral site.

This opportunity began with local partners asking how we could bring more major events to Brookshire Grocery Arena. Together, the Shreveport-Bossier Sports Commission with Visit Shreveport-Bossier, Centenary College, Brookshire Grocery Arena and our community and state partners helped turn that vision into three years of championship basketball.

Presented by Ochsner LSU Health, the tournament will welcome student-athletes, coaches, families and fans from 10 SCAC institutions while generating an estimated $650,000 in economic impact during its first year.

We are so incredibly thankful for our local partners who are helping to make this happen, and we are ready to welcome SCAC to Shreveport-Bossier and create a championship experience our community and visiting fans will never forget! 🎉
