Big thank you to Julien Vinet for serving as my senate aide this session. Julien is originally from Shreveport and just finished his freshman year at LSU. He was a great addition to the team this session and I am grateful for his help!

As a fellow north Louisianan, I know Julia Letlow is exactly who we need in the U.S. Senate. We’ve both fought for this region, and she has proven time and time again that she can represent all of Louisiana with the values, integrity, and leadership our state deserves. Julia is a proven leader, and I’m proud to give her my endorsement.

We're in the final stretch of the 2026 Regular Session and bills are continuing to move right along to get us to the finish line. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Northwest Louisiana here at the Capitol this session.

I have been blessed with many meaningful experiences in my life, but laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as an eighth grader remains among the most profound.

May we never forget the Americans who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Today, take time to pray for their souls and for the loved ones they left behind.

Wishing you a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day. 🇺🇸

Now this is impressive! Congratulations to Sanil on being named Louisiana’s 2026 Elementary Student of the Year. I know he’ll represent Shreveport well at this year’s National Spelling Bee.

Congratulations to Sanil Thorat, a 5th grader at Fairfield Elementary Magnet School in Shreveport!! Not only is he the 2026 Elementary School Student of the Year in Louisiana, but he's also competing in this year's National Spelling Bee 🐝🐝

Way to go, Sanil!! 🎉🎉

This morning, I had the opportunity to speak at the reopening celebration for the YMCA Caddo Parish Premier Park, the new home of the Shreveport Little League.

This renovated park is more than new fields and facilities; it’s an investment in the future of our community and the young athletes who will create lifelong memories here for generations to come.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this project possible and proud to support investments that strengthen Northwest Louisiana.

Another productive week here at the Capitol as we move through Week 10 of Session. I’m happy to see great momentum on several pieces of my legislation including Trey’s Law advancing to the Governor’s desk for final signature and my bill pertaining to the Caddo-Bossier Port Commission leadership passing through the House.

Amazing news coming out of the Capitol today! Trey’s Law is officially heading to the Governor’s desk after successfully passing through both the Senate and House sides.

I’m grateful to have my colleagues’ continued support and proud to champion this bill to ensure victims of child sexual abuse are no longer silenced through NDAs and have the ability to share their stories and seek justice.

We are now one step closer to adding Louisiana as the next state to adopt Trey’s Law which is a major step forward for survivors in our state to finally have their voices heard and to inspire others.
