We’re proud to share this recent episode of Hearts of Heroes, which highlights a water rescue our department was involved in last year.

While it’s always meaningful to see an incident like this revisited, the real story is the teamwork that took place that day. Multiple first responder agencies and personnel came together, each doing their part, with one shared goal: bringing someone home safely.

We’re grateful to every police officer, firefighter, dispatcher, EMS personnel, and other first responder who worked together that day. It was truly a team effort, and we’re thankful for everyone who played a role in saving a life.

We’re honored to serve alongside such dedicated professionals and proud of the teamwork that our communities can count on when it matters most.

🚤 Keeping Our Lakes Safe

Our Marine Unit continues to work hard throughout the boating season to keep everyone enjoying Lake Quinsigamond and Flint Pond safe.

Since June 1st, 113 boats and Jet Skis have either been removed from the lake for unsafe operation or denied entry during our ramp safety checks because they did not have the required safety equipment.

These safety checks and proactive enforcement are about more than issuing violations — they are about preventing crashes, injuries, and potentially saving lives.

We encourage everyone heading out on the water to slow down, stay alert, operate responsibly, and make sure you have all required safety equipment before launching.

Thank you to our Marine Unit and everyone who is doing their part to keep our waterways safe! 🌊🚔

Stay Safe. Be Responsible. Enjoy the Summer!
