We are thankful for the wonderful community around us, for their donations and support for our programs. Because of groups like Rotary Club of Southern York County, Southern Community Services was able to give out over $11,000 in utility assistance to members of our community. Thank you to all the local groups and organizations that continue to support all we do!

Next week our pantry will close on Thursday, May 4th and Open on Friday, May 5th to participate in Give Local York Day.

Southern Community Services at YMCA of the Roses continues to help families in Southern York County. Last year’s Give Local York funds contributed to assisting 501 families who came through the pantry this past fiscal year. Those households included 1,270 youth, adults, and seniors. The funding also helped to deliver food for seniors who are unable to come to the pantry in person.

The Give Local York funds allow the pantry to maintain a variety of nutritious foods including fresh produce, dairy, meat and dry groceries. The pantry also provides personal care and baby items.

Funds received in the upcoming 2023 Give Local York Day will enable SCS to continue efforts to support our community.

School supplies have started to arrive. Share this information with families in need located in the Southern York County School Districts. We thank our local donors for their generous contributions for the 2022/‘23 academic year.

Backpacks and supplies may be picked up during open pantry days, Tuesdays 4-6pm and Thursdays 11a-1pm. Or you may call 717-235-0446 ext. 408 to schedule a convenient time.
