**Disturbance and Large crowd of Juveniles**

On Sunday, June 7, 2026, at approximately 3:42 p.m., Shrewsbury Police were dispatched to Sky Zone, located at 7375 Watson Road, in reference to a disturbance involving a large number of juveniles.

Upon arrival, officers learned that Sky Zone was hosting a “6–7 Event” and had not arranged for additional security despite the anticipated large crowd. With the business already full, there were approximately 300-350 unaccompanied juveniles waiting in line outside. With temperatures around 90 degrees, it did not take long for tempers to flare. Approximately 8 fights broke out in a matter of minutes. As officers arrived, the crowd scattered in all directions. We requested assistance from other agencies due to the size and volatility of the crowd.

The disturbance extended to nearby businesses, including Aldi, Walmart, and My Place, where juveniles entered the stores, caused damage, and threatened customers and employees. As a result, most surrounding businesses were forced to close for the day.

As officers attempted to gain control of the crowd, the juveniles, ages 10-17, turned their aggression toward the officers and began yelling obscenities, making threats, throwing rocks, and refusing to leave the area. Several juveniles were detained and subsequently released to their parents/guardians. A butcher knife was seized from a 12-year-old who said she Ubered to the area from Florissant after she saw the fights on social media and wanted to be involved, so she brought the weapon with her “for protection”. The crowd gradually dispersed, and the area was cleared by approximately 9:30 p.m.

No officers were injured and no injuries were reported by others during this incident. The Shrewsbury Police Department thanks all the other police agencies who responded to our call for aid. We are extremely grateful for your assistance.

• On May 25th, a couple was arrested at 12:30 in the morning after they were caught opening the mail drop boxes outside the Post Office at MacKenzie Point and stealing mail from within. We’re certain they weren’t just checking for proper postage, but you never know. Both now face felony charges.

• On May 25th, a man who had previously been trespassed from PhilMart at 7250 Lansdowne was arrested for trespassing after he once again entered the business. He was again advised that he was not allowed on the property due to previous trespass warnings. The man did not think it was fair, because he was “only buying a soda”. That’s not how “no trespassing” works, Sir. We’ll explain it all again next time.

• On May 27th, a man was arrested after stealing a metal shelf pole from outside PhilMart at 7250 Lansdowne and telling employees that he planned to hit someone with it. Officers located the man walking in the 7200 block of Lansdowne, and he initially refused to drop the object and stop for officers, instead yelling obscenities at them. Amazing what the bright glow of that little red TASER dot bouncing across the chest will do to a person’s desire to fight. He was taken into custody for stealing and peace disturbance.

• On May 28th, a home in the 7300 block of Lansdowne was burglarized sometime between the hours of 6:10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. A relative of the homeowner found the frame to the front door damaged. Items taken from within the residence included 3 Go-Pro cameras, a Nikon camera, and other personal items. Residents in the area are asked to check surveillance footage for any possible suspicious activity.

• On May 30th, an E-Trike was stolen from the parking lot at BioLife, 7531 Watson Road. The owner had parked the Trike in the parking lot at approximately 10:30 a.m. and entered the business. When he returned around 11:30 a.m., the Trike was missing. Officers are awaiting surveillance footage from cameras in the parking lot and utilizing FLOCK cameras to locate the vehicle.

In addition to these reports, between May 26th – May 31st, Shrewsbury officers also responded to 15 auto accidents, 3 disturbances, 11 welfare checks, 3 suspicious activity calls, and 4 theft calls. We assisted the Fire Department with 15 calls and conducted 99 traffic stops.

**Robbery & Assault on Law Enforcement Officer**

On Monday, June 1, 2026, at approximately 5:17 p.m., a Shrewsbury Police Officer was struck by a vehicle following an armed robbery at the U.S. Post Office located at 7217 Watson Road.

Preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect vehicle had just fled the scene of an armed robbery on the Post Office loading dock at the rear of the Post Office. A Shrewsbury Officer, unaware that the armed robbery had not yet been reported, attempted to stop the vehicle for a traffic offense. As the officer approached, the driver suddenly reversed the vehicle and then accelerated directly toward the officer, striking him and throwing him onto the hood before he fell onto the pavement. The suspect then fled the area.

A second Shrewsbury officer, who witnessed the assault, initiated a pursuit but ultimately lost sight of the suspect vehicle after it crossed into Illinois.

The injured officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was later released with minor injuries.

Shrewsbury Detectives, in coordination with U.S. Postal Inspectors Office, are actively investigating the incident.

Another successful torch run for Special Olympics Missouri in 2026! Thank you Sgt. Foltz, Detective Thieret, Officer Huff, Cpl. King, Officer Johnson, Officer Tran, and Dispatcher Ditto for representing SPD and to Webster Groves Missouri Police Department for teaming up again this year!

As with the past many, many, many 1st Mondays of June, we are honored to be once again assisting the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in their annual parade and picnic today, June 1, 2026!

Weather has cleared, so the parade is set to begin at 11:00am from the parish grounds. The route is as follows:

Begin: STM grounds
-South on St. Michael Ave.
-Cross Murdoch Ave. to south on Verguene Ave.
-East on Weil Ave.
-North on Shrewsbury Ave.
-West on Sutherland Ave.
-END: STM grounds

Traffic will be closed along the route briefly only as the parade passes. Traffic will re-open immediately after they pass.

Officers will be on site of the picnic. Be sure to say hi if you're joining the fun!

• TRAFFIC TRIFECTA ACTIVATED: On May 18th, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle displaying expired license plates. Bad registration- check, suspended driver's license-check, no insurance- check, arrested- check.

• TRAFFIC TRIFECTA ACTIVATED: On May 19th, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle displaying a fake temp tag. The driver was arrested for the usual traffic trifecta charges, with the additional charge of counterfeit license plates.

• On May 19th, an officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no front license plate displayed. The driver was arrested for failure to properly affix license plate, no driver’s license, and no insurance. Traffic trifecta or nah?

• On May 21st, around 5am an officer observed a male in the fetal position outside of a business door in the 7200 block of Lansdowne Ave. The person appeared to be under the influence of narcotics, being unable to stand on his own, and had difficulty staying awake. While awaiting medics, the officer located a glass pipe consistent with drug paraphernalia, which was confirmed by the man who said he used it to ingest methamphetamines just prior to their contact. He was issued a summons for the drug paraphernalia and transported for medical care.

• TRAFFIC TRIFECTA ACTIVATED: On May 22nd, an officer conducted a traffic stop in the 7200 block of Watson Road on a vehicle with no license plates displayed. The officer learned the vehicle was not registered (hence the no plates), the driver did not have a driver’s license, and the vehicle was not insured. We all know what happened next: People jail… Car jail.

• On May 23rd, a business in the 7400 block of Watson Road reported a delayed theft of nearly $300, mostly in booze, by a subject that has been plaguing retailers for years. The subject is being sought for Felony Stealing- 4th or Subsequent Offense; and he more than fulfills the element of the crime with 20 stealing-related convictions with the last ten years and this being his 15th case with the Shrewsbury Police Department alone.

• On May 24th, an officer responded to a business in the 7400 block of Watson Road for a report of a disturbance. The officer learned two adults (by age only) were involved in an argument over a parking space they both wanted, both apparently ignoring the approximately 400 open parking spaces 10 feet away. Statements were gathered and the information will be forwarded to the Prosecuting Attorney’s office for him to decide if he wishes to make this a criminal matter.

• On May 24th, we were contacted by the Ferguson Police Department who advised they were out with an unoccupied Hyundai that appeared to be stolen, but unreported. An officer made contact with the owner and determined the vehicle was stolen from the 800 block of Diehnwells Drive. The vehicle was processed for evidence and the investigation is ongoing. Nearby a different Hyundai was parked with damage consistent to a stolen vehicle, but not reported. A Saint Louis County Officer contacted that owner and determined it was stolen from their venue. The investigation is ongoing.

In addition to these reports, between May 18th – May 24th, Shrewsbury officers also responded to 7 auto accidents, 3 disturbances, 6 suspicious activity calls, and 5 theft calls. We assisted the Fire Department with 32 calls and conducted 70 traffic stops.
