Friendly reminder that the library will be CLOSED MONDAY, MAY 25 in observance of Memorial Day. The Lake Mohegan Fire Dept. will host a ceremony by our WWII memorial (outdoors) Monday at 10am for those interested.

We have 2 helpful programs next week for seniors (or the "young at heart" 😉):
First, we have a presentation on May 27th about how Social Security actually works and how to know when to start claiming based on your situation. This is presented by AARP.
Then next Saturday 5/30, we have an all-in workshop on Medicare. Whether you're on it already, are approaching 65 or trying to help loved ones navigate the system, this workshop will cover everything you need to know.

John Joseph Cozolino of River of Dreams and Ben Eramo Music of Scenes - A Billy Joel Experience are coming to Shrub Oak, NY to perform at the John C Hart Memorial Library as a part of the Summer Porch Concerts on Thursday, July 23, 2026 from 6:30PM to 7:30PM.
This event is free and open to the public.

We have 2 Zooms to round out the month featuring our own county/state's history! Learn about the New York that once was with a presentation on lost landmarks, monuments and more from the NY Historical Society (5/22 at 1pm). Then tune in next week (5/27 at 7pm) to take a look at restaurants in Westchester that were once historic homes/buildings!
