I would like to thank everyone who attended the formal swearing in ceremony last night. The Shutesbury Police Department is honored to serve such a supportive community!

Good Morning Shutesbury,

The bulk of the storm appears to be over. We ask for patience as our committed and hardworking Highway Department continues working on the roads to make them safe.

Please Remember:

Stay off the roads if you can. Highway Department and first responders need space to work safely.

No vehicles can be parked on the street, when vehicles are parked on the street the Highway Department can’t make the roads safe.

Take breaks when doing snow removal. Clearing this amount of snow in very cold temperatures can be dangerous without taking breaks.

Report emergencies by calling 911—and reserve business lines for non-emergency inquiries.

Keep heating system exhaust vents clear of snow to prevent carbon monoxide buildup.

When warming up your vehicle make sure to remove snow from the area of exhaust to prevent carbon monoxide build up.

Very importantly check on neighbors, especially elderly or vulnerable individuals.

We’ll continue monitoring conditions.
Stay safe, stay warm, and let us know if you need us—we’re here.

The Shutesbury Police Department is excited to share the success of our 2025 Community Giving Tree program! This year’s initiative was a true community effort, and we couldn’t have reached our goal without the wonderful collaboration of Shutesbury Elementary School, the Shutesbury Fire Department, the Shutesbury Athletic Club, the M.N. Spear Memorial Library, and the Shutesbury Community Church.

A special thank you goes to Shutesbury Fire Chief Leonard Czerwonka for his outstanding support throughout the process. Most of all, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all of our community members who took time out of their busy holiday schedules to purchase gifts for children in need. Your kindness and generosity truly made a difference and helped brighten the holidays for many.

Thanks to everyone’s efforts, approximately 50 gifts have been wrapped and delivered to 6 families in our community, bringing joy to 13 children. This program is a beautiful reminder of how Shutesbury comes together to support our neighbors and make the holiday season a little brighter for those who need it most. We look forward to carrying on this new traditon with our 2026 Community Giving Tree program!
