Osceola County EMS Team members were training tonight. Simulation In Motion Iowa is the name of this truck. 2 of these trucks travel our state training EMS, Critical Care Hospitals and Flight Teams. This unit has 2 simulated ambulance stations inside. Teams are given a simulation patient that has injuries. The simulated patient breaths, has pluses, all patient vitals are controlled by the trainers. The EMS Team assess the patient and perform interventions to help provide the patient life saving care as if they were a real person. This is very realistic training. The team is evaluated by the Simulation Instructors giving the EMS team members immediate feedback on how they are doing.

Thank you to the Simulation In Motion Iowa for coming to our county and providing this type of training!

๐ŸŒช๏ธ Tornado Safety Topic - Tuesday March 24 ๐ŸŒช๏ธ

Tornadoes can develop quicklyโ€”being prepared can save lives. Take a moment today to review these safety tips:

Before a Tornado:
โ€ข Have a plan and know where to take shelter
โ€ข Identify a safe place: basement, storm shelter, or small interior room on the lowest level
โ€ข Keep a weather radio or alerts enabled on your phone
โ€ข Prepare an emergency kit with essentials (water, flashlight, batteries, medications)

During a Tornado:
โ€ข Go to your safe place immediately
โ€ข Stay away from windows and doors
โ€ข Cover your head and neck with your arms or a helmet
โ€ข If youโ€™re in a mobile home, get out and find a sturdy shelter

If Youโ€™re Outside or in a Vehicle:
โ€ข Do NOT try to outrun a tornado
โ€ข Seek shelter in a sturdy building if possible
โ€ข As a last resort, lie flat in a low-lying area and cover your head

After the Storm:
โ€ข Watch for debris and downed power lines
โ€ข Check on family, friends, and neighbors
โ€ข Follow instructions from local officials

๐ŸŸก Stay weather aware. ๐ŸŸก Stay safe.
