Power has been restored, and all homes have been tested and cleared.

If you were evacuated, it is now safe to return to your homes.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation as crews worked through this incident to ensure the safety of our residents.

CenterPoint crews will continue working through the night to repair the broken gas line. State Route 274 has reopened.

🚨 Gas Leak / Evacuation Update – Jackson Center 🚨

A gas line was struck near Casey’s on State Route 274, resulting in road closures and evacuations in the area.

Evacuation Area:
• All residents on E. College Street to Davis Street, from the intersection to the railroad tracks, should evacuate immediately.

Road Closures:
• SR 274 at Casey’s is closed.
• Linker Road at SR 65 is blocked.
• Morris Rose Road at SR 274 is blocked.
• Lock Two Road at SR 65 is blocked.
• Bambi Lane at SR 274 is blocked.

Traffic Information:
• As of 3:30 PM, all non-local traffic entering Jackson Center will be directed around the entire area.
• Residents needing access to homes outside the evacuation zone should speak with law enforcement officers for directions.

Response Updates:
• 2:21 PM – CenterPoint crews arrived on scene.
• 2:43 PM – Power was secured in the 100 block.

Please avoid the area, use alternate routes, and share this information with others who may be affected.

Monitoring radio traffic, only a few reports of possible downed power or cable lines have been heard so far. Regardless, it is dark outside—please use extra caution if you are out and about tonight.
