SIDENOTE: If anyone has an actual PHYSICAL (the microfilm version unfortunately matches this digital one) copy of the January 1, 1891 Sidney Daily News - page 3 that they would be willing to scan and share with me so that we could read the missing part of the article that would be AMAZING!!

History is an amazing thing! I love how there’s always more to discover. Just yesterday, I learned that Bonnyconnellan wasn’t always called Bonnyconnellan. Crazy, right?

For a long time, it was believed that John Loughlin, the man who had her built, gave her that name. But after coming across a newspaper article suggesting otherwise, I did a bit more digging. Based on the three articles I’m sharing below, it now seems likely that Loughlin originally named her Mount Campbell, and that her second owner, Mr. Tucker, was the one who later renamed her Bonnyconnellan.

Sorry I have been so quiet lately. We were blessed with a visit from our youngest son. He was visiting for the holidays from Yokosuka, Japan where he is stationed in the US Navy. It's been a several years since he was able to have leave so as you can imagine we were spending all free time we could with him.

As for what else we have been up to! We've made significant progress with installing the woodwork and new floors (I'll post photos of the next few days!).

We have always felt it important to share Bonny with the community that loves her so much! Over the last few months we have been in the Ghost Tour, that was so much fun! We hosted both a new membership drive and a membership renewal night for the Shelby County Historical Society. It was wonderful to get to see some familiar faces and meet many new ones!

Those nights were followed by hosting the members of Miami Valler Rainbow Girls for thier friendsgiving. For anyone who doesn't know about this organization it is an amazing organization for young women (11 to 20). It helps to teach leadership and public speaking skills, building confidence and self-esteem, and fostering friendships through community service. If anyone is interested in more information on it please feel free to message me and I can get you in touch with the right people.

That brings us up to today! We are working on all the preparations to host another amazing young organization, Pearls and Ties of Sidney, OH. They teach emotional and spiritual qualities like calmness, self-confidence, and emotional balance. If you would like more information about this organizationplease feel free to message me as i would be glad to get you in touch with them as well.
