There are a number of streets that are barricaded off due to water being across the road. Please do NOT drive around the barricades !! In addition, the water is now across the road on Main Street (the county road) by Keller Automotive. Please idle when going through this area as to not push water up into Rob’s shop !!

At our August meeting of the Village of Sidney trustees, the resignation of longtime trustee Tyler Bickers was accepted. Tyler & his family will be moving from the village. Thank you to Tyler for his service to the board.

Village resident Bob Hawkins was appointed to serve the remainder of Tyler’s unexpired term. Please join us in welcoming Bob as the newest trustee for the Village of Sidney.

A friendly reminder that it is illegal in Illinois to blow your glass clippings onto public roadways. The clippings can be a traffic hazard, being slick as ice for motorcycles and bicycles. First-time offenses can carry fines starting at $100 on up. Please do your part in refraining from blowing your clippings onto our village streets. Thank you !!

Just a friendly reminder that curbside brush pickup is the 1st full week of each month during the months of April through November. Here are the guidelines for pickup:

*No branches longer than 6 feet long
*No branches larger than 4 inches in diameter
*If brush (leaves) is placed in a bag, only paper lawn & leaf bags will be picked up
*No plastic bags will be picked up
*All brush waste must be placed at the curb in front of your house
*All branches must be laying in the same direction

Thank you for following these guidelines. Our village maintenance workers appreciate your cooperation.

NOTICE OF TIME CHANGE - The regular monthly meeting of the Village of Sidney Trustees will be on Monday - June 1, 2026 at 8:00pm (instead of the normal 7:00pm time). Here is the posted agenda for Monday’s meeting.

A village resident has informed us about a huge beehive in a tree by the alley in the 100 block of North Scarborough. Please use caution when in that area 🐝🐝.

Due to lacking enough trustees to have a quorum to conduct official business, the regularly scheduled May meeting of the Village of Sidney city council has been postponed to WEDNESDAY, MAY 13th at 7:00pm.

Just a reminder … "Dumpster Day” for this Spring is scheduled for TOMORROW .. Saturday, April 11th from 7:00am - 11:00am at Witt Park. Some of the prohibited items are: tires, yard waste, paints, oils, chemicals, batteries, or electronics of any kind (televisions, computers, monitors, microwaves, etc.) You must be a Sidney resident to participate. We will also be verifying that you are a Sidney resident; if we don't know you, please be prepared to have an ID ready. Thank you!
