PRIVATE PARKING NOTICE
We want to address an issue that occurred during tonight’s downtown festivities.
Several individuals parked in the Historic Fremont County Jail’s private parking lot, some even drove onto and parked in our grass, without permission while attending other events downtown. This prevented our paying guests from having access to the parking that is provided as part of their experience.
Because we were conducting scheduled tours, we parked our own vehicles on our property to accommodate our guests. Unfortunately, this led to several unauthorized parkers responding with profanity, yelling, leaving notes on our vehicles, and verbally confronting both us and our patrons.
Let’s be perfectly clear:
• Our parking lot is private property and is reserved for Historic Fremont County Jail guests, staff, and authorized visitors only.
• Parking on our grass is not permitted and causes unnecessary damage to our property.
• Effective immediately, unauthorized vehicles parked on our property, including the parking lot or grassy areas, are subject to being towed at the owner’s expense without warning.
• Verbal harassment, intimidation, abusive behavior, or leaving hostile notes directed at our staff or guests will not be tolerated. Trespassing or disorderly conduct may be referred to law enforcement when appropriate.
We enjoy being part of this community and welcome everyone who visits Sidney. All we ask is that our private property be respected so that the guests who have paid to be here can enjoy their experience without disruption.
Thank you to everyone who respects local businesses and private property.
