Shelby Soil and Water Conservation District Our Mission is to Provide Leadership, Education, and Technical Assistance in Natural Resource Conservation To The Citizens of Shelby County.

Who are We?
- A legally organized subdivision of the state of Ohio located within the same boundaries as Shelby County, Ohio.
- An organization responsible for the promotion of the conservation and development of natural resources within Shelby County with special emphasis on soil and water, and for providing assistance to landowners with the planning and application of Conservation practices on t

heir land.
- An organization that receives funding from the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Soil & Water Conservation, and from the Shelby County Commissioners.

We failed to get a group picture of all our counselors for Conservation Day Camp 2.0, but we still want to say a HUGE thank you to all of them!!

Thank you Peyton, Hailee Jo, Alexa, Gracie, Grant, Addi, Brycen, Carly, Clayton, Eli, Melena, Shelby, Harper, and Emmett!!!

These students volunteer their precious summer hours to lead the campers. They are essential for the campers to stay safe, be included, and have fun at camp! Many of these students have been counselors for multiple years and we really appreciate their dedication and experience!

Thank you to our great presenters on Day 2 of Conservation Day Camp 2.0!!

Polly Barger, Naturalist at Lake Loramie State Park, led fishing; Jason Bruns from Shelby Soil & Water Conservation District led birdhouse construction; Sarah Hippensteel from Miami Conservancy District - MCD led a session about water conservation; Rylee Kay Puthoff from Ohio State University- Shelby County Extension led a session about recycling and waste reduction; and Logan Ambrister, Shelby County Wildlife Officer Ohio Division of Wildlife taught about the history of wildlife in Ohio.

These wonderful people volunteering their time makes the camp experience what it is for all the campers!! Thank you again for all the presenters and other volunteers that contributed on Day 2!!!

Thank you to our great presenters on Day 1 of Conservation Day Camp 2.0!!

Polly Barger, Naturalist at Lake Loramie State Park, led archery; Mindy Thomas, geologist at Ohio Geological Survey, led a session about the geo history of Ohio, Leon Mertz, from Lake Loramie & Lake Loramie Improvement Association, coordinated a pontoon boat ride on the lake! Shari Eilerman from the Fort Loramie Historical Society also gave a presentation about local history.

These wonderful people volunteering their time makes the camp experience what it is for all the campers!! Thank you again for all the presenters and other volunteers that contributed on Day 1!!!
