Bevins Elementary School and Pike County Schools Superintendent Freddie Bowling would like to announce and welcome Mr. Matt Moon as the new Bevins Elementary School Principal.
Mr. Moon is a graduate of Belfry High School, Morehead State University, and the University of Kentucky. Mr. Moon has completed 20 years working as an educator. He has several years of experience as an Assistant Principal in Pike and Floyd Counties as well as classroom experience teaching music and directing bands at Pike County Central High School and Johns Creek School.
A message from Mr. Moon:
I am incredibly honored, blessed, and excited to be the new Principal of Bevins Elementary School. I am a husband, a father, a teacher, a musician, a person of faith, and a native of Pond Creek. I believe in the “Cardinal” principles of Virtue, Diligence, and Respect. I look forward to the opportunity to shape the lives of young students and build our community’s bright future by laying a strong educational foundation. Together, we will continue to make Bevins, “Simply the Best!”
Congratulations Mr. Moon, and we are excited to have you at Bevins Elementary School!

All incoming kindergartners and their families are invited.

PLEASE SHARE WITH ALL FAMILIES OF STUDENTS IN A PIKE COUNTY SCHOOL:

Student registration for the 2024-25 school year is now OPEN! Every student must be registered through the Infinite Campus Online Portal each year.
This is for all Pike County Students, not just Bevins Elementary.

Registration needs to be completed prior to the first day of school.
If your student is already enrolled in the Pike County School System, you can register them online using the Infinite Campus Parent Portal App or by visiting https://pike.kyschools.us/Content/olr

For new students or students without internet access, please contact your school for assistance.

Welcome to the Online Registration page!

Pike County Schools will continue doing online registration for students by use of the Infinite Campus Parent Portal this year. Parents of returning students are encouraged to log in to the parent portal, go to the “More” tab and select “Online Registration” to begin the registration process for their student(s). Parents of new students should use one of the methods below to begin the process. We recommend using a computer rather than the cell phone app due to the amount of info needed on the applications. (Note that the OLR process has been updated this year and several of the forms typically found in the beginning of-year packets are now included as part of the OLR process. Most schools will have a supplemental paper packet for parents to complete after the new school year begins. Paper packets will be sent home by students after the first day of school or a different process may be put in place by each school for parents to pick up packets at the schools.) To begin the OLR process, select one of these methods:

DIRECTIONS FOR PARENTS THAT ALREADY HAVE PORTAL ACCESS:

Navigate to www.pike.kyschools.us and locate the Quick Links drop-down menu, select Infinite Campus, then Parent Portal to begin the process… or just click here: https://kyede12.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/pike.jsp

After the parent portal opens, go to the “More” tab and select “Online Registration” to begin the registration process.
Directions for parents that need access to the Parent Portal (DO NOT USE THIS OPTION IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A STUDENT ENROLLED IN K-12 LAST SCHOOL YEAR):

To access the Parent Portal, each parent will need a personal login. It is essential that each parent creates a personal login and not use one of their children's login as it will not display info for all children if there are multiple students in the household. To begin the process, parents need to acquire an activation key by contacting the school, each school's process for obtaining codes may differ.
Once you have acquired your activation key: Navigate to www.pike.kyschools.us, locate the Quick Links drop-down menu, select Infinite Campus, then Parent Portal to begin the process… or just click here: https://kyede12.infinitecampus.org/campus/portal/pike.jsp

On the parent portal login screen, scroll to the bottom of the page and select “New User?”. From here, insert the Activation Key provided to you and set up the new account. After the account is set up, open the parent portal, go to the “More” tab, and select “Online Registration” to begin the registration process. You may also use the portal in the future to view student attendance, grades, and assignments.

It is my favorite time of year - Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week! ❤👏✨
We have the BEST staff at Bevins Elementary School and it is my pleasure to honor them for one week out of the year. This year, we have a Taylor Swift theme! Today, we started off with "All Too Well (FED)" by providing the staff with breakfast on us from our wonderful cafeteria.
Also, thank you Amber Mccoy for donating donuts for the staff today too!
We have many wonderful people and business that have donated for our drawings and I will thank them at the end of the week!

I am one proud principal today! We have been rewarding classes with perfect attendance all week and I am happy to say that today SIX homerooms have perfect attendance (really 7, but one class had someone come in late so we can't count that). Shout out to Mrs. Jacki Baldwin and Ms. Maecie Rollins's first grade homerooms, Mrs. Kimberly-Larry Hughes's second grade, Mrs. Sandra Merrill's third grade, and Mrs. Nicole Kidd and Ms. Tabitha Keen's fourth grade homerooms! We are so proud of them. They are getting to select a class reward from the list today. I am believing we can get 12/12 with perfect attendance soon!
