The Sidney Central School District recently held its annual awards ceremony. During the evening, awards were handed out for various departments and achievements.

The Top 10 students for the Class of 2026, as well as the Superintendent Medal winners were announced. Junior class scholarships were also awarded, as well as the Triple C Commitment, Character, and Courage awards for each grade in the Jr/Sr High School.

Also given out were the department awards, and the academic and achievement awards for each grade level from 7-12.

Seniors in Scott Hertzog’s English class recently met with sixth graders in Jacquelyn Neale’s and Kelly Nichols’ classes. Each year, these classes meet and the seniors give sixth graders letter of advice as they graduate into the next chapter of their lives – middle school.

The seniors, who are preparing to graduate and move into the next chapter of their lives, also discuss what the sixth graders can expect as they move into middle and high school.

Five Sidney CSD senior student-athletes took part in the district's signing day on Tuesday!

The five will go on to play sports in college, and signed their letters.

The student-athletes are:

- Dejah Taylor (Binghamton University - Division I track and field)
- Nayla Miley (Holy Family University - Division II women's basketball)
- Lennon Swain (SUNY Cortland - Division III track and field)
- Jesse Newell (Hartwick College - Division III football)
- Krystal Siegenthaler (Elmira College - Division III field hockey)

SFCU and Sprout visited Sidney CSD during the recent 3-6 monthly PRIDE Awards!

The visit was part of the Lil’ Sprout Savings Club. The club is for students in grades 3-6 and helps teach students about financial literacy. Students can open an account with SFCU and can make deposits of $50 or less right at school.

Congratulations to the super savers for the month as they were presented with certificates!

Happy Monday morning!

As we enter June and the school year starts to speed up, something else is going on!

Get ready for a summer full of fun, learning, and adventure! Sidney’s Summer Enrichment Camps (grades K-6) and Sports Camps (grades 3-8) will open for registration at 5:30 p.m. today! Slots are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis, so don’t wait!
