Dear Sierra Madre, We Need You. The much coveted, Sierra Madre CERT certification training is here. In alignment with being Sierra Madre and our Local Neighbors Strong please join us at no charge to obtain your Sierra Madre CERT Certification.
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is a nationally supported, locally implemented initiative that teach people how to better prepare
themselves for hazards that may affect our communities. CERT trains us in basic adisaster response skills such as team organization, disaster medical operations, fire
safety, and light search and rescue.
The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) developed the CERT program with Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) expanding the CERT materials in 1994 to make them applicable to all hazards and made the program available to communities nationwide.

Only offered every few years please join us for this year’s Sierra Madre CERT Training. Please see details on flyer below to sign up. We very much look forward to seeing you there, and providing your CERT certification. ⛑️

Sierra Madre stands together in a standing room only attendance, at this months January 23, 2025 CERT meeting. Sharing much valuable information were Jose Reynoso - City Manager, Bob Spears - Emergency Services Director, and Chris Bertrand - Captain of Sierra Madre Fire Department & Liaison to Sierra Madre’s Community Emergency Response Team/CERT. Deep interactive discussions included topics on preventive measures to protect our properties from fire, mud and others threats, options for enduring times without electricity, medical safety, and best practices for cleaning out smoke from one’s property. Please come join us at our next meeting February 27th, at 7pm for an amazing discussion with recently seen on KTLA news discussing fire and fire prevention Rich Snyder, retired Captain of Sierra Madre Fire Department. Sierra Madre CERT provides a caring environment for the community to come together for supportive dialogue, exchanging solutions to issues that will protect our physical safety, those of our neighbors and of our property.
