Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department and Dallas Bay Fire Rescue provided station coverage at Waldens Ridge Emergency Service Station 1 while WRES crews responded to an active residential structure fire.

Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department would like to extend a sincere thank you to LMNT for their generous donation of LMNT electrolyte drink mixes to support our firefighter rehabilitation (Rehab) efforts.

Staying properly hydrated is critical during emergency responses and training, especially during the summer months. These electrolyte packets will help our firefighters recover, stay hydrated, and continue serving our community safely and effectively.

For over 40 years, Jimmy Hillis has been that steady, reassuring voice guiding countless first responders. Whether it was a single emergency or a major, large-scale event in Hamilton County, his calm dispatching gave fire, EMS, and police unwavering confidence. With Jimmy on the radio, no one ever worried about a thing being overlooked—he was always in tune, always reliable. That calm, steady presence meant more than words can express. While Jimmy will continue leading us here as Chief of Waldens Ridge Emergency Service, we are honored to congratulate him on his retirement from Hamilton County 911 Emergency Communications District. Jimmy, your legacy of care will echo far beyond the radio. Congratulations, Chief! Enjoy this well-earned next chapter!

PIO RELEASE | Camper Fire – 90th Block of Grayson Way

At approximately 10:48 p.m., the Lone Oak Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the 90th block of Grayson Way for a reported camper fire near a residence. While units were en route, dispatch advised that the fire had reportedly extended to the residence. Upon arrival, Engine 1, the first unit on scene, confirmed that the residence had not become involved. The camper was fully engulfed upon arrival.

Engine 1 immediately initiated fire suppression operations while Tanker 1 established a water supply from a nearby hydrant. Through the quick actions of responding personnel, the fire was contained to the camper, preventing damage to the nearby residence.

Responding units included Rescue 1, Engine 1, Tanker 1, and Squad 2.

There were no injuries or loss of life as a result of this incident. The estimated property loss is approximately $30,000.
