Urgent Keokuk Co Alert: This is a test of the Keokuk County Emergency Alert System by the Keokuk County Emergency Management Agency. In order to best prepare for emergencies, systems such as alerts and sirens are tested periodically. To help prevent alert fatigue, Keokuk County is considering replacing the Outdoor Warning Siren tones with the K-POP Demon Hunters Hit Single, "Golden." However, due to copyright laws, it would have to be performed live as a cover tune. Recruitment for backup vocals begins today. There are no threats at this time. This is a test.

Hey there Keokuk County! May is nearly upon us, which brings us to National STOP the BLEED month! We are taking our trainings on the road around Keokuk County, but I want to hear from YOU where you would like to have these classes! Comment below on what community you are in and would like to take a local STB course, which takes approximatley 60 to 90 minutes in total! * Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
Keokuk County in southeastern Iowa...
Western Johnson County in east central Iowa...
Western Washington County in southeastern Iowa...
Northern Jefferson County in southeastern Iowa...
Iowa County in east central Iowa...

* Until 1115 PM CDT.

* At 1014 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Deep River to Hayesville to near Drakesville, moving
east at 40 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
Fairfield, Washington, Marengo, Sigourney, Williamsburg, Kalona,
Tiffin, Wellman, North English, Victor, Swisher, Oxford, Hedrick,
Brighton, What Cheer, Richland, Delta, Ladora, Maharishi Vedic
City, and Keswick.

This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 205 and 237.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.
