We had lots of recognition at tonight’s June Board of Education meeting!
First the board thanked Superintendent Holifield for her time and dedication in her role as superintendent, and her 33 years as an educator! Superintendent Holifield will retire at the end of this month.
We also recognized athletes from Girls Soccer, Girls Tennis, and Baseball that receive Academic All-State!
All around it was a special night!

Following the successful passage of the April 2026 No Tax Increase Bond, which will allow for additions to Lee Hunter Elementary and Wing Elementary as we reorganize from three to two elementary buildings, the Sikeston Board of Education is excited to announce the decision to keep both schools as 1st–4th grade elementary schools, with additions scheduled to be completed for the 2027–2028 school year!

Throughout this process, we gathered valuable feedback through Climate and Culture surveys completed by our staff, parents, and stakeholders, hosted town halls and forums open to the community, and utilized a committee to carefully review and weigh the pros and cons of all input collected. The involvement and support from our Bulldog Nation community played an important role in helping guide this decision.

We are confident this model will continue to provide students with strong relationships, stability, and a safe, predictable learning environment where they can grow and thrive. We are incredibly proud of the collaboration and engagement shown by our staff, families, and community throughout this process and look forward to continuing to build an even stronger future for our students and schools.

The future is bright for Bulldog Nation!❤️🖤🐾

Youth Softball Clinic Update!!

We’re excited for camp next week and are now allowing late registration! If anyone missed the original sign-up deadline, girls can still register Monday morning before the clinic starts.
Open to any girls going into 1st–6th grade.
