We’re proud to announce a state champion again, Torris Price!! He won the boys’ 1600 meter run at the NCHSAA 1A track and field state championship meet on Thursday, May 14, held at NC A&T State University in Greensboro.
(Torris won Chatham Charter’s first state championship this February in the winter sport of indoor track.)

Congratulations as well to the other 11 Knights who competed in the state championship events!

Other notable placements:
- In the 800m run, Torris had a 2nd place finish while Eli Coleman came in 5th.
- Breylan Harris earned 4th place in both the high jump and triple jump events. He came in 5th in the long jump.
- The Knights team finished 5th in the boys’ 4x400m relay.
- In the girls’ 1600m run, Emily Scheidt finished 6th.
- Aaliyah Walden earned a 6th place finish in the girls’ high jump.
- The boys’ team ended its season 5th in the state 1A.

The eighth grade promotion ceremony the morning of the last day of school puts a period on the middle school years. Onward, students!

Kindergarten and preschool families and staff celebrated the end of these special years during two promotion ceremonies on Tuesday, May 12. What a joy to see our youngest students already taking roles in public speaking and performing!
