🌞🚨 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT 🚨🌞

Before anyone starts yelling, “IT’S STILL SUMMER!”… we know. 😂

We aren’t trying to rush your pool days, cancel your vacations, or make your kids go back to school early. We simply like to plan ahead… unlike the person who waits until August 31st to buy school supplies. 👀✏️

Vendor spaces are FREE! In lieu of a vendor fee, we ask that each vendor donate at least $25 worth of new school supplies. We are proud to partner with Communities In Schools to ensure these donations go directly to local students and families as they prepare for the upcoming school year. Together, we can make a lasting impact in our community! 📚🎒❤️

Town of Siler City Seeks Applicants for Advisory Boards and Committees

SILER CITY, NC — The Town of Siler City is seeking individuals interested in serving on Town advisory boards and committees. Serving on a board or committee is a great way for residents to have a voice on issues that matter, become involved in local government, and make a difference in the community.

The Board of Commissioners will consider appointments to several Town boards and committees at its August 2026 meeting. Residents interested in serving are encouraged to submit an application by July 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m.

How to Apply

Interested individuals may complete an application online by following this link Applications for Boards & Committees or obtain a printed application from Siler City Town Hall, located at 311 North Second Avenue, Siler City, NC 27344.

Planning Board / Board of Adjustment

The Planning Board advises the Board of Commissioners on matters related to land use planning, zoning, development regulations, and long-range planning initiatives. The Planning Board also serves as the Town's Board of Adjustment and hears appeals, variances, and other quasi-judicial matters as provided by state law and local ordinance.

Immigrant Advisory Committee

The Immigrant Advisory Committee serves as a liaison between the Town and Siler City's diverse immigrant communities. The committee promotes communication and engagement, identifies community needs and concerns, and provides recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on issues affecting immigrant residents.

Parks and Recreation Committee

The Parks and Recreation Committee advises the Board of Commissioners and Town staff on matters related to parks, recreational facilities, programs, special events, and opportunities to enhance the quality of life for residents of all ages.

Applicants must meet any residency or eligibility requirements associated with the board or committee for which they are applying.
The Town of Siler City encourages residents from all backgrounds and areas of the community to apply. Citizen volunteers play an important role in ensuring thoughtful decision-making and helping shape the future of our community.

SILER CITY, NC- The Siler City Board of Commissioners will meet on Monday June 22, 2026, at the Chatham County Agriculture & Conference Center located at 1192 U.S Hwy 64 West Business, Pittsboro, NC. The Special meeting will begin at 5:45pm. Individuals may access the attached meeting agenda or follow this link: www.silercity.org

The Chatham County Board of Commissioners will hold a Special Joint Meeting with the Town Boards of Goldston, Pittsboro, and Siler City and on Monday, June 22, 2026 at the Chatham County Agriculture and Conference Center located at 1192 US 64 Business in Pittsboro.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 pm.

Receive a Scale Chatham presentation.
Receive and update from TriRiver.
Receive the Town of Goldston Annual Highlights and Accomplishments.

Receive the Chatham County Annual Highlights and Accomplishments.
Receive closing remarks from a representative of each elected board.
