It is with profound sadness that the Siloam Springs Fire Department shares the passing of one of our own, Captain Kyle Huffman.

Kyle has been a valued member of the Siloam Springs Fire Department since 2014, faithfully serving our department and the Siloam Springs community for more than a decade.

Our hearts are with Kyle’s family, friends, and his brothers and sisters of the fire service during this incredibly difficult time. We ask that you please keep them in your thoughts and respect the family’s privacy as they navigate this tremendous loss.

☀️ Supporting Camp Sunshine ☀️

We are proud to share that two of our Siloam Springs firefighters recently volunteered their time at Camp Sunshine Arkansas in Little Rock! 🚒❤️

Camp Sunshine Arkansas is a special program for children who have experienced serious burn injuries. Founded in 1991, the camp provides young burn survivors from across Arkansas with a place to connect with others who understand their experiences, build confidence, create lasting friendships, and simply enjoy being kids. Its mission focuses on promoting physical and emotional healing, personal growth, and helping children move from being burn victims to burn survivors.

This is a program that Siloam Springs Fire Department STRONGLY supports. As firefighters, we know that the impact of a burn injury doesn't end when the fire is out or the hospital stay is over. Programs like Camp Sunshine provide support, encouragement, and experiences that can make a lifelong difference.

We are incredibly proud of our firefighters for giving their time to be part of such a meaningful program and for representing SSFD while supporting these amazing kids. ❤️‍🔥

🚲 Back to School Means More Bikes on the Road! 🎒
We’re asking everyone to take a little extra time, slow down, stay alert, and share the road. Drivers — give bicyclists plenty of space and put the distractions away. Bicyclists — wear your helmet, make yourself visible, and follow the rules of the road.
A few extra seconds of patience can make all the difference. Let’s work together to keep our kids and community safe this school year! ❤️

This week, our firefighters have been busy both training and serving our community!

Our crews completed their annual Emergency Vehicle Operator Course (EVOC) refresher training. Every firefighter must first complete a 16-hour EVOC course before operating emergency vehicles, followed by an 8-hour refresher each year to ensure they continue driving safely and effectively while responding to emergencies.

We also had a blast helping the kids at Friendship Daycare celebrate Water Day! There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and cooling off as our firefighters sprayed everyone down to beat the summer heat.

Whether it's sharpening our skills or making memories in the community, we're proud to serve Siloam Springs every day! 🚒💦❤️

The fire reported earlier this evening at the Transfer Station has been contained. This was not a structural fire.
