Please avoid the area around exit 138 I 20 and Hwy 77. This includes the Flying J and the Chevron. Apparently most of the exits towards Augusta still don't have power. So everyone on I 20 are getting off at Exit 138 for gas. There really heavy traffic in the area. Please share!

Due to the prediction of upcoming severe storms and high winds, the Siloam fire department will be open and available throughout this weather event. Please check in with the member on duty on your arrival. The building is backed up with full generator power so if you need to come by and charge a cell phone or get some water we will be there for you. Also if your home is damaged and you need a place to sleep for the night you're welcome to sleep in the building just please bring a sleeping bag as we have no Linens. The building also has a full kitchen if you need to come by and cook food for yourself or your family due to power outages. If do decide to come please do not park in front of the big roll up doors. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us. Please stay safe. Also please repost this so we can get the word out. Thank you!

Severe Weather Update....
8:00 AM 01/12/2024

Storms will be developing late this morning and into the early afternoon. While our threat has been scaled back to a 2 out of 5, there is still a potential for strong to severe storms.

Potential Hazards:
• Strong to severe thunderstorms (2 out of 5) pose a risk for damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes, especially south of a line from Columbus to Macon.
• Locally heavy rainfall -- We are not expecting nearly as much rainfall as Tuesday's system; however, due to recent heavy rains and saturated soils, current forecast rainfall amounts will likely result in localized flash flooding and/or continued river/stream flooding.
