!!!!ATTENTION!!!!
The Silver Bay Police Department, along with the MN DNR, and local volunteers are hosting Firearm Safety classes on September 18th. Class begins at 8:00AM, meet at the new trail head building, half hour prior to the start of the class for registration. Preference to students ages 11 – 13. Students must first complete the MN Firearm Safety Course online and bring a copy of their certificate to class. The Fi****ms Safety Certificate becomes valid at age 12. Fi****ms will be provided for the target practice. Parents must drive students to the range for that portion of the class. Register at City Hall, 226-4408, prior to September 16th.

Conrad will be in Silver Bay this week.

This is Conrad. He is a university student from Estonia, who is completing a summer internship with Southwestern Advantage. Conrad is in the area selling K-12 educational products. He will be in the area for up to 4 weeks, driving a gray Chevy Blazer. If you see him, stop and say hi!

-PSA- Reminder.
When reporting a crime to the Silver Bay Police Department. Please call 9.1.1 or Lake County Dispatch at 218-834-8385 option 1. The page and the squad phone are not monitored 24/7. By contacting dispatch who is trained and has the time to ask the right questions for the information, and can also get emergency personnel en-route while gathering the information. Which makes us more efficient in our jobs. Facebook and the squad phone are used more for general questions.

Good morning everyone. We took another scam report last night. The reporting party received this via text messaging. If you get something like this just ignore and delete it. Do not give out any personal information. When in doubt report it.

On 4/13/2026 the City of Silver Bay’s sanitary sewer had a surcharge due to a blockage on Outer Drive between Law Drive and Evans Circle. The MPCA has been notified, due to the overflow of sewage on to Outer Dive that flows into the city’s storm system. City crews have cleared the blockage and will be cleaning up debris. There is no known impact to the City’s drinking water system.
