This morning, members of the Bay Creek Joint Fire District participated in an auto extrication training drill at the Dunkirk Training Grounds. Members of the Chautauqua County Technical Rescue Team, along with representatives from AMKUS Rescue Systems and Paratech, were on hand providing access to specialized rescue equipment and sharing valuable knowledge and techniques with our firefighters.

The training provided a great opportunity for hands-on experience with the latest extrication tools and equipment, helping our members sharpen the skills needed to safely and efficiently rescue victims during serious motor vehicle accidents.

It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout from departments across the 1st Battalion.

A special thank you to 1st Battalion Coordinator Mike Keddie for organizing this outstanding training opportunity and to everyone involved in making the day a success.

On Wednesday June 3rd, members of the Silver Creek Fire Department took part in Silver Creek School’s Field Day by bringing a fire truck out for one of the kids’ favorite activities — our firefighter “sprinkler!”

There’s nothing better than seeing the smiles, laughter, and excitement as the students cool off and enjoy a fun-filled day!

Thank you to the school staff for inviting us to be part of another great Field Day. We are proud to serve this community both in emergencies and at special events like this. 🚒

Busy day for Bay Creek Fire District — an all out effort from both departments. Strong work today 🚒

Yesterday, the Silver Creek Emergency Squad responded to seven calls throughout the day. During one incident, we unfortunately missed a call because our crews were already handling another emergency at the same time, including a transport to the city.
Our EMS providers are dedicated to serving this community and answering the call when true emergencies happen. To best protect our residents, we work hard to keep our medics and members available for life-threatening and urgent situations. Non-emergency transport requests and non-urgent calls can tie up resources that may be critically needed elsewhere.
We kindly ask everyone to help us by utilizing the 911 system as it was intended. If you are experiencing a true emergency, PLEASE CALL 911 — But please remember that emergency services are not intended to function as a taxi or convenience service.

We are proud to serve our community and appreciate your understanding and support in helping us keep emergency resources available for those who need them most.

Thank you for our dedicated members, medics, and your continued support in helping us help YOU!

Yesterday February 3rd, at 1350hrs Bay Creek Fire depts (Silver Creek & Sunset Bay) were dispatched to the area of Burgess St & Robinson in the Village for a unknown type fire… C170 (District Chief) went on location at the same time as dispatch reporting heavy black smoke and flames from behind a grape vineyard and assumed command. C191 on location shortly after assumed operation role, UTV 171 was able to access area early with manpower and determine we had a structure type building/large shed already collapsed and a pickup truck fully involved . Due to the location of the fire, deep snow and being approximately 500 feet away from the road the village DPW payloader was able to plow an access path to the fire for our crews to utilize. E174 & E192 were able to feed an attack line to extinguish the fire. Crews from both departments worked seemlessly to overcome the adverse conditions. UTV 171 was a shuttle unit for equipment and manpower back to the structure. Crews remained on location for about 1.5 hours. Crews were able to contain the fire to those objects and save any other campers or vehicles on the property. Unfortunate there was several pets lost in the structure.
