Reflecting on the passing of Jerry Pelle, Silver Grove’s City Treasurer for over 30 years.
Jerry Pelle was much more than a treasurer for Silver Grove; he deeply cared about the well-being of our community. He invested so much time and passion to our people to make Silver Grove as great a place as possible for all of us who live here, as well as those who only pass through. The love for what he did was evident by the fact that he never stopped working, even into his 80s.
Jerry touched so many people through his tax business as well as through the city, and to me personally, Jerry was a mentor but more importantly, he was a true and devout friend. I learned so much from him about how to (as best as I can) run a sound, fiscally responsible local government. His advice and friendship will stay with me forever.
I know this statement can be viewed as generic, but I can’t think of any other way to say it than that we have all been truly blessed to have known and worked with Jerry.
God Bless Jerry and Sue and the entire Pelle family.
Mayor Neal Bedel, City of Silver Grove
