Message from the President:

The Fiji Association of Washington DC is the new name for Viti DC Community set up many years ago as a social club for the Fijian community in the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Members decided to rename it and properly set it up as an association and apply for it to become a Non-Profit 501c organization, to facilitate cyclone Winston fund raising and carry out other

activities to be decided in the future, including organizing social events as done in the past. The people behind the change are the same people who have been involved with Viti DC Community. The plan is to properly set up membership and expand it to include youth as they can contribute a lot to the activities of the Association. Officials of the Association include:

· Secretary: Sala Sucu & Asinate Vitusagavulu
· Treasurer: Makenesi Vitusagavulu

To Our Cherished Fijian Community and Extended Diaspora,

As we celebrate the Festival of Lights this Diwali, we are reminded of the powerful symbolism it brings — the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Diwali is a time to reflect on the values that unite us, to honor our traditions, and to embrace the sense of renewal that this festive season brings.

On behalf of the Fijian Association of Washington DC, we extend our warmest wishes to you and your families. May this Diwali fill your homes with peace, prosperity, and boundless joy. Let the lights of Diwali inspire us to strengthen our bonds and uplift one another, wherever we may be.

Thank you for being a part of our community, and for the warmth, culture, and resilience you bring to it. Let us look ahead to a bright and prosperous new year, inspired by the spirit of Diwali.
