Today we pause to remember and honor the courageous service members who gave their lives for our country. Their sacrifice, bravery, and dedication will always be remembered. Wishing everyone a meaningful Memorial Day as we reflect with gratitude and respect. 🇺🇸

MCPS Media Assistants are among the proposed budget cuts currently under consideration by the County Council. These positions are essential to our schools and support far more than just the library.

Media Assistants help students daily by:
📚 Supporting classroom learning and library access
💻 Troubleshooting technology and managing Chromebooks
🖨️ Assisting with printers, devices, and school technology
📖 Organizing books, makerspace materials, and library programs
👩‍🏫 Supporting staff, substitutes, and daily school operations

Cuts to these positions could reduce student access to library services, instructional support, and educational resources.

Our schools, students, and educators are counting on us.

Proposed MCPS budget cuts could impact staffing, student support, and critical programming across our schools. The County Council vote is approaching quickly, and now is the time for our community to speak up.

Please consider calling or emailing County Council members to urge them to fully fund our schools and support our students and educators.

Yesterday’s “Defying Gravity” theme was full of magic from coffee cart deliveries and sweet treats to flowers, wands, and all things pink & green! 💚🩷

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible teachers and staff for everything you do each and every day for our students. Your hard work, kindness, and dedication never go unnoticed. We are so grateful for this amazing school community!
