05/17/2026. B-Shift. In the early morning hours before shift change, Company 15 was alerted to respond to the 14900 Blk of Ashford Ct. in Laurel for the report of a townhome on fire. First arriving units arrived to find a two-story end of the row townhouse with fire showing from the Charlie side with fire that extended into the Delta exposure. Engine 15 was dispatched 4th and established RIT on the Charlie side before taking over division 1. Truck 15 was dispatched on the WFD, took side Charlie, forced entry thru two fences and laddered the building. The inside team took delta exposure to search and open up the extension from the fire building. Company 15 operated for a couple of hours before returning to service.

04/29/2026. B-Shift. Early this morning Company 15 was alerted to respond to the area of Castle Blvd. And Briggs Chaney Rd. in the first due for the report of fire coming from a building. Company 15 arrived on the scene in the 3200 Blk of Automobile Blvd to find a Jiffy L**e service center with fire showing. Truck 15 cut the bay doors, vertically ventilated, and opened up for the engine company. Engine 15 stretched a line into the building and found a fire in one of the service bays. The fire was knocked as searches were completed by the rescue squad. Company 15 operated for a few hours before returning to service.

04/20/2026. C-Shift. On April 20th, Engine and Truck 15 responded to the 2100 Blk of Industrial Parkway in the first due for the report of a building fire. Engine and Truck 15 arrived on the scene to find a one story commercial building with smoke showing from a gym. Engine 15 stretched a handline into the building and found a working fire in the women’s locker room. Truck 15 completed searches and opened up for a fire that extended into the ceiling. Company 15 operated for a few hours before returning to service.

04/16/2026. B-Shift. Truck Company 15 was dispatched to the 900 Blk of Ednor Road in Co. 4’s first due for the report of smoke coming from the home. Company 4 arrived on the scene to find a one story rancher with fire in the basement. Fire extended from the basement to the first floor and attic space. Truck 15 was assigned to division 1 where they opened up for the engine company and performed primary searches. The Truck driver laddered the building and removed window bars from the exterior. Truck 15 picked up after about two hours.

04/07/2026. B-Shift. Shortly after lineup this morning, Truck 15 was dispatched to the 9400 Blk of Spring House Ln. in Laurel for the report of smoke coming from a building. Initial companies arrived to find a one story leasing office in an apartment complex with smoke showing. The Working Fire Dispatch was requested, bringing Engine 15 to the scene. Truck 15 was the first arriving special service and took positioning on the Alpha side. Truck 15 laddered the building, opened up, controlled utilities,and assisted with primary searches of the structure. Engine 15 completed secondary searches.

Last week, members of A-Shift were presented with a Unit Citation for actions taken on a building fire in Prince George’s County on January 1st, 2026.

“The coordinated and aggressive actions of these crews resulted in the successful rescue of eight civilians and the rapid confinement of a significant structure fire. Their decisiveness under pressure prevented further injury and loss of life. For demonstrating lifesaving actions which are highly reflective of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, this Fire Chief’s Unit Citation is hereby awarded.”

03/29/2026. B-Shift. This evening, Company 15 was alerted to respond to the 3900 Block of Bryant Park Cir. in the first due for the report of a house on fire. Company 15 arrived on the scene to find a 3-story middle of the row townhome with smoke showing from the Charlie side. Engine 15 stretched the 400’ to the rear to find an outside-in fire with extension to the second floor of the dwelling. After an initial knock on visible fire in the rear, the crew advanced the line up through the basement to find fire in the main living area and extinguished the same. Truck 15 completed searches of the structure, opened up, and ventilated accordingly. Company 15 operated for a couple hours before returning to service.

03/26/2026. B-Shift. Earlier this afternoon, Company 15 was alerted to respond to the 4700 Blk of Lincoln Ave. in Beltsville for a house fire. Engine 15 was dispatched as the third due wagon. Truck 15 was dispatched as the second due truck. Units arrived to find a one-story single family on a basement with fire showing from the bravo side. Company 15 arrived with the first due Engine and deployed a crosslay to the bravo side of the structure. The Engine Company extinguished fire on the porch, the bravo side exposure, and the initial knock on the kitchen before extinguishing an auto in the yard. The truck company took their assignment and assisted with searches and opening up. Company 15 operated for about two hours before returning to service.

02/05/2026. A-Shift. Yesterday around 1630, Company 15 was alerted to respond to the 900 Blk of Montrose Ave. in Laurel for the report of a house on fire. Units arrived on the scene to find a two story cape cod with smoke showing. E15 was dispatched as the 4th due Engine but arrived 3rd and operated as such. Truck 15 operated as the 1st due truck. The Engine and Truck were assigned to division 1 where they extinguished fire in the kitchen. Extensive overhaul revealed advanced fire in the void spaces and knee walls. Truck 15’s driver and tillerman cut the roof on the Charlie side. Company 15 operated for just under two hours before returning to service.
