Explore Improv

Explore Improv Explore Improv is a landing spot for the exploration of improvisation comedy/theater for non-performers and performers alike. Explore Improv is for everybody.

Have you ever watched a live improv show or an episode of "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and thought... "That looks so fun, how do they do that?" In the Explore Improv Meetup you will learn the basics of improv and play the same games, scenes, and exercises taught at America's top improv schools. We'll explore the basics of improv and the simple tricks that make improv so amazing to watch. We'll play

lots of improv games that are not only fun, but help you develop new skills as well. You'll gain confidence, be more comfortable speaking in public, taking action and living spontaneously. As you progress you'll learn to silence the negative voices in your head and trust your ability to think on your feet. You'll learn to be a great listener and team partner. You'll rediscover the fun and freeing power of living in the moment, like a kid at recess! Learning improv, with its emphasis on active listening and team building, is a powerful professional skill. That's why Microsoft, Apple, CERN, John Hancock, Staples, Dunkin Donuts, and many major universities invest in improv training. You don't need any experience, Just come with a willingness to explore a world where anything is possible! You’ll make some new friends and have an amazing time. So come join us! This video also explains what we are trying to do: http://youtu.be/h8LZRVw2ejQ

Tony Beeman (an improviser at Unexpected Productions, and The Doctor in Seattle Experimental Theatre's improvised Doctor Who) posted this to Unexpected's class page citing that you could "search and replace" LISTENER with IMPROVISER. I concur.
