Silverton Reservoir Temporarily Closed for Maintenance

With summer winding down, we figured we’d wait until the kids were back in school to tackle a little reservoir housekeeping.

The Silverton Reservoir will be closed Tuesday, Sept. 8 through Friday, Sept. 11 for routine maintenance and inspection.

We’ll have everything checked out and ready to go, with the reservoir reopening Saturday, Sept. 12.

Thanks for your patience while we give the reservoir a little end-of-summer tune-up!

Downtown maintenance work is happening overnight as City crews refresh street markings and complete other routine roadway and sidewalk maintenance.

Working at night helps minimize traffic impacts and disruptions during the day, but you may notice equipment, crews, and some temporary lane or sidewalk closures overnight.

We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience as we complete this work to help keep our downtown safe and well-maintained.

Tonight's the night! National Night Out is happening TODAY from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at City Hall, and we can't wait to see you there.

We're expecting another warm evening, so we'll have plenty of cold drinking water available, shaded areas where possible, and water activities to help everyone stay cool. As always, please use your best judgment. The heat and air quality may not be suitable for everyone, particularly those in sensitive groups.

There's still plenty of fun in store with face painting, Kona Ice, Silver Dogs, the dunk tank featuring the Chief of Police, Police Captain, Mayor, and City Manager, emergency vehicles, community organizations, and much more.

We'll see you tonight for an evening of community fun!

Tomorrow is National Night Out, and it's going to be even bigger than before! Join us on Tuesday, August 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Silverton City Hall for an evening of community, connection, and fun.

Meet your local police officers, firefighters, city staff, and community partners, learn about the services and resources available in our community, and spend time with your neighbors.

Enjoy face painting, Kona Ice, Silver Dogs, activities, and a dunk tank where you'll have the chance to dunk the Chief of Police, Police Captain, the Mayor, and the City Manager!

We can't wait to see you there!

UPDATE
---7/30/26---
Thank you for your patience as City and YMCA staff responded to yesterday's reports at the City/YMCA Pool.

The pool is open and operating as normal today. Following yesterday's reports, multiple rounds of water testing were completed, and all results were within normal operating ranges. We’ve received reports that those who were affected yesterday have recovered and are all doing well.

City and YMCA staff will continue to test the pool at routine intervals and closely monitor conditions. At this time, there is no indication that yesterday's reported illnesses were related to the pool facility.

The safety of our community remains our top priority. If any new information becomes available, we will share updates.

---7/29/26---
Out of an abundance of caution, the City/YMCA Pool is closed for the remainder of the day.

This afternoon, several pool visitors reported noticing an odor and feeling unwell. Out of caution, some families chose to seek medical evaluation.

City staff immediately tested the pool water, and all test results have come back within normal operating ranges.

All other YMCA programming will continue this afternoon, as scheduled, at the Lewis St facility.

We understand that there have been reports on Pulse Point of a mass casualty incident and this is incorrect.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates if any additional information becomes available. We anticipate the pool operating with regular hours by tomorrow. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
