Hello, Simi Valley Police Explorers Followers!

A big thank you to for letting the following Explorer Posts; CHP VENTURA, SANTA PAULA PD, VENTURA PD, Simi Valley PD , Port Hueneme PD, and the rest of Ventura County’s Sheriff’s Explorer posts in the newly made Ventura County’s Explorers’ Tactical Competition of 2022.

Each explorer from each agency conducted tested scenarios such as; high risk felony stops, narcotics search warrants, SFST’s, and Tubular Assault’s.

The purpose was to have the explorers from our county to get together and learn. A big shout out to . Your explorers crushed it and that is a reflection of your agency and your Police Explorer Advisors!

Lieutenant Pelayo went on a ride-along with Police Officer Explorer Advisor T. Johnson. They went to many radio calls, but, they encountered a disorderly tumbleweed. The tumbleweed was issued a jaywalking ticket, a violation of California Vehicle Code 21955. The tumbleweed was released to the sidewalk and advised to stop crossing the roadway unless it uses a proper crosswalk.

Here are some more photos of what your Explorers have done these last five to seven days.

- Simi Valley Police Department’s Strange Things theme Drive-Thru event at the station’s front parking lot. Everyone who participated put in a lot of their own personal hours into creating, setting up, and the disassembly of The City of Hawkins.

- Our Explorers had a quick turn around after the drive-thru event, and proceeded to do the Trunk or Treat at Royal High School.

We hope our Simi Valley community enjoyed these events. We take smiles and “thank you’s” as a form of payment.

Shout out to our Explorers for assisting in traffic control this past weekend at the Simi Valley Senior Center. The event? Pancake Breakfast! Police Officer Explorer Advisor T. Johnson made sure everything ran smoothly and it did.

This past Monday at the Simi Valley Police Department. Police Officer Explorer Adviser Waldrop instructed the Post on preparation for interviews and how to create resumés.

Officer Waldrop later instructed the Post on DUI evaluations. Explorers had the opportunity to be actors, and also role played as an officer conducting a DUI evaluation. This was in preparation for our upcoming competition in Ventura County.

Good morning, Simi Valley and to our followers.

Here’s a recap of what your Explorers have done so far before the month of September is over.

We went to the City of Simi Valley Volunteer Appreciation Dinner hosted by the Simi Valley City Council. There were multiple volunteer organizations that were present and they were recognized for their dedicated service to this city.

Among the speakers were, our mayor, members from the city council, and Ashley from 99.1 the Ranch!

Also present, was former Explorer Sergeant Blocker.

Included are a few pictures of us at the event.

“On Sunday, September 11th 2022, your Simi Valley Police Explorers hosted the 10th annual Cops N’ Cruisers Car Show! To our car show participants, vendors, , sponsors, live entertainment, all of the volunteers who assisted On Sunday, September 11, your Simi Valley Police Explorers hosted their 10 almost annual Cops N’ Cruisers Car Show! From our car show participants to our vendors, our sponsors, the live entertainment, and all of the volunteers, Explorer advisors, department personnel, and to the Simi Valley community, THANK YOU!

The Simi Valley Explorers Cops N’ Cruisers Car Show began in 2009. Since then, the car served as the biggest fundraising event for the Simi Valley Police Explorer Post 2910. The funds that came out of the event helps fund the program’s uniforms, travel to explorer competitions, annual career exposure trips, and other

On August 27th, organizers set up a memorial walk/run/bicycle events for our nation’s 13 U.S Military Service-members who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. They represent the best of our nation’s values.

Your Simi Valley Police Explorers took part in the early morning hours and assisted by directed the guests, volunteers, and esteemed delegates to their proper parking spots.

The last photo, our explorers were briefed by an active duty Marine from 2nd Marines 1st Battalion, “The Professionals,” from Camp Pendleton. This Marine was at scene in Kabul 2021 and personally knew those service-members who passed away. Thank you for continuing to represent the Marine Corps Core Values of Honor, Courage, and Commitment.

A few nights ago, Simi Valley Police Explorer Lt. Pelayo did a ride along with Officer Waldrop. Officer Waldrop is one of many Simi Valley Police Officer Explorer Advisors. He also works the night time shift. If you like to put a face to the name, check out a few posts from a few weeks ago!

During the night shift, Lt. Pelayo got to experience a perimeter search from a safe distance, and, he was involved in a brief pursuit. The correct decision was made to cancel it due to public safety.

Congratulations to our new Police Explorers, now, without the “recruit” at the end!

Thank you so much to Simi Valley Police Chief David Livingstone and Simi Valley Police Commander Meyer for showing up for our Explorers graduation on July 13th! It was an honor for the Explorers to have been badged and awarded by Chief Livingstone and Commander Meyer.
