The Dream Ride Experience
For more than 25 years, the Hometown Foundation has hosted The Dream Ride Experience at the Farmington Polo Club; an event that largely supports animal wellness, individuals with major illness, individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, military members and first responders.
As part of the Dream Ride Experience, this fundraiser includes two large, police-escorted events through the Farmington Valley: The Dream Ride, featuring motorcycles and the Dream Cruise, that features automobiles. Both events attract a large number of participants and spectators and generate increased traffic throughout Simsbury.
On Saturday August 22, 2026, a large number of motorcycles will participate in a 40-mile police-escorted ride that will travel through portions of the Farmington Valley, including Simsbury.
The motorcycles are scheduled to depart the Farmington Polo Grounds at approximately 11:00 a.m. The ride will travel into Avon before entering Simsbury on Hopmeadow Street. The ride will then turn left onto Stratton Brook Road, turn left onto Farms Village Road (Route 309) and travel west into Canton.
Additionally, on the same day, a convoy of over 200 vehicles will enter Simsbury via Route 167 at Route 44 at about 4:15 p.m. This convoy will travel north on Bushy Hill Rd (Route 167), east on Latimer Lane, north on Hopmeadow St (Route 10), then east on Hartford Rd (Route 185) and then south on Nod Rd.
Both of these events are expected to result in significant traffic delays throughout Simsbury on the dates and times listed above. Delays of 20-30 minutes are expected along the route with a significant impact between 4:15 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.
Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and when possible consider alternate routes to avoid delays. Thank you for your understanding and support of this generous organization. These vehicles are making the dreams of the Dream Riders come true.
